I’ve grown quite a few TGA strains @DougDawson

Spacejill, Agent Orange, Jack’s Cleaner II, Chernobyl, Apollo 13 BX, Void, Jack the Ripper, Pandoras Box, etc…

Was there something specific you wanted to know?

The member is wanting to do a preservation run on the above strains. I know nothing about Subcools work. Not sure what exactly he has there. So any info would be great.

Ohh I see @DougDawson

IMO… and this is just my opinion. Those all listed in post 86 were his later releases and many that were done outside of Subcool’s hands… not his classics. As time moved on, Subcool/TGAs work evolved into him using a lot of outside work. Perfect example was TGA released “Dr Who” which was actually another breeder called Homegrown Natural Wonders work. There were a bunch of strains like that. To me… thats about the time when I felt like the “magic sauce” Sub was using… it kind of seemed like the magic dissipated. Ripped Bubba not being one of those… was made by Sub… 100% his. but I am less familiar and was less interested in his later stuff. Ripped Bubba would probably be the only thing on that list that I myself would even grow.

The older packs… like Spacejill, Spacebomb, Jack the Ripper… and of the strains that I had mention that were more “The Classics” would be much more worthy for preservation in my own opinion. But strains like Sonic Screwdriver, Jazz Queen… or really any of those others I wouldn’t think really are all that important or were raved about by others.

Vortex is a perfect example of a classic that is already planned to be preserved by a fellow OG member… that’d be a great one and I’m excited to see how those turn out. So many people had proclaimed Vortex as one of Subcool’s best strains. I didn’t run that one but did run his Apollo 13BX, I was actually a tester for Sub when A13BX was new… its Apollo 13 x Vortex. One of my all time favorites from seed.

That’s just my 2 cents. Hope that helps.

That all matches my memory too. Some of those strains were created by HGNW using Subcool’s males. Subcool and HGNW had a falling out. Then, after the forest fire burned his house and Subcool and MzJill split, Subcool started The Dank. The Dank’s line was bred by Badger (now Badger’s Batch) and NorthStar Genetics, using Subcool’s males. All three colabs produced some very good strains, but they are not well known. And MonsterDank is also correct that Ripped Bubba is a TGA classic.

And Jazz Queen was also a TGA strain, but it came out right at the end and then Subcool’s The Dank started selling it.

Jazz Queen is Galactic Jack (Jack Herer x Space Queen) x Raspberry Smash. I grew out Raspberry Smash a few years ago and really loved it. Smelled exactly like Raspberries. I have some Jazz Queen seeds too and look forward to trying them.

I have Jack the Ripper f2 that I plan on doing another increase on and bringing to f3. But after I seen the agent orange co op start I got super pumped after it failed Ive been on the hunt for agent orange to repro first. It seams to be a bit of a unicorn tho :disappointed:

There’s a couple members here holding that particular unicorn…… I can’t say who, but it’s around.

I have a 5 pack of Agent Orange, that I have been wanting to repro as well.

I donated my Vortex F1s to the community to get those F2’s made so I’ll do the Agent Orange OP myself.

Subcool’s original works were and still are among some of my absolute favorite plants to grow and smoke.

Querkle, Vortex, Ripped Bubba, and JTR were among the originals that immediately come to mind that absolutely knocked my socks off back in the day.

Thankfully I do have seeds of each of those F1s…
over 50 each of Querkle and 3D, maybe 10-20 each of Vortex, Ripped Bubba, and JTR.

Peace and Happy Growing ! :peace_symbol: :pray::seedling::green_heart:

My personal TGA favorites were SpaceJill (Spacequeen F2), Spacedawg (Chemdog/Subcool Collaboration), and the Apollo 13 BX… those were some highly memorable seed plants that had a big impact on my life. The resulting harvests blew me away. I’ve never had or seen bag appeal like that in my life before. Bud so funky and fruity… super loud flavors and smells. It was a real life altering experience. Not every single pheno from every strain was a banger… I had some really poor phenos of Jillybean and Jack’s Cleaner II along the way… but most of them were pretty incredible.

Subcool was one of several Breedbay breeders, and the way we bought seeds was on Breedbay’s auction site Seur Bidz. It was a cash in the mail type situation and the place we’d mail our payment in to was in the UK… so you’d usually have to wait a couple weeks to get your seeds.

Subcool/TGA, Bodhi, Dynasty/Professor P, Trichome Jungle… were some of Breedbay’s more well known and still established breeders. But there were other guys too that you just don’t see or hear from anymore… Outlaw Genetics, Heaven Scent Pharms, British Hempire, Hothouse Flowers, etc.

I was immediately attracted to TGA by the flavor descriptions. When I saw you can grow bud that tastes like sour mango candy or fresh oranges… I was instantly intrigued. His descriptions were dead on… then after growing a few TGA packs I was interested in some of the other guys. I eventually picked up some of Bodhi’s gear and tried his Purple Moonshine, Cali-Yo, NL#5 x Talk of Kabul, Apollo11G… I became and still am very much a fan of Bodhi… even developed a friendly relationship with him over time.

If I could see any pack of TGAs get preserved that I wanted… and could pick only one… it’d be his Spacequeen… he had 2 Spacequeen choices… both were Spacequeen F2s that he released, named Spacejill and Spacebomb. Sub had said himself that Spacequeen was his first choice/favorite smoke. They yielded either Cherry or Sour Mango Candy phenos… I grew the Spacejill myself and had phenos that ranged from Cherry to Fruit Punch. It was a really potent, uplifting mostly sativa hybrid from memory. Super frosty plants, good yield, easy to grow, finished under 60 days. I had just recently bought a pack of Spacebomb from Norstar/Genetic Supply in a Discord Auction… but Idk anyone else that still has a pack. I’d love to make F2s of Spacebomb some day.

I have two 5 packs of the Space Bomb if you have the time and want to make some f2s I’m willing to give up some seeds.

I actually wouldn’t be able to do this for another year or so… as I’m not in the right location to do a big project like that… I am buying a new home soon and will embark on many projects like this down the road… when I get to that point… I may reach out and take you up on this.

Thanks bud. So it sounds like those strains listed are not preservation worthy. That’s a shame. Thanks for the info my friend.

I agree w this. The most “soaring” high feeling i’ve felt in 30+ years.
Not as euphoric as Skywalker OG but Apollo 13 x Vortex “A13bx” got you higher than a kite! So high it was hard to function. Like you couldn’t go shopping or drive this high.

Though i did veg. mine for 6 months to increase potency lol.
