i assure you i am most grateful for ALL the help and encouragement i have received here.
i haven’t been here that long and y’all have helped me get up over a bunch of hurdles that have been holding me/the project back.
as i stated before, i have had more help here in 5+ days than 1yr 5 months on the other forum.
thank you. all.
Awesome! Such a shame to hear that though, a lot of shite forums scare people away from forums that are stellar and it upsets me. This place just seems to transcend all of the BS and that makes me so happy, this is a prime example. Much respect
my sister actually pointed me there (she grew medical in MA - her husband had cancer. he passed 3yrs ago.) and it DID work to some extent. at the very least i met firstcav there, and got to read schwaggy’s breeding thread. met a few other people that were cool, but …
this place is far more proactive. this place is getting sh*t done. i’m home.
i want to do what y’all are doing. i want to make seeds. i want to make beneficial crosses. and i want to share what i’m doing with like minded people.
Graduation Day!
Class 001 of Clone Academy has graduated and moved on to advanced solo cup training.
they spent 12 days in the root cubes from cutting.
i used technoflora root-tech gel for the root goop
and
unsure of what brand root cubes i’m using. packaging wrecked long ago (sorry)
Top of the class goes to Gelato x Kosher Kush with phenomenal root growth. GxKK Clone 1 had a root that had to be about 5" long. i was quite surprised. i have never seen a cutting root that vigorously. seems the GxKK is a very strong plant. i keep defoliating/topping and training the mom, but she’s full on jungle again 3-4 days later. strangely, i’m ok with this.
Amnesia Haze came in second. a good amount of rooting around the bottom of the cube.
GDP came in last. one of the clones didn’t display any rooting, but the cutting was still very much alive.
all roots got spritzed with a weak superthrive solution and “powdered” with mikos before going into my DIY soil mixture.
GET SOME CLASS 001!
Class 002 just getting started on the left, empty pods of Class 001 to the right.
Amnesia Haze Clones - yes, that IS duct tape on the stem. stem snapped when i made the cutting. i duct taped it and stuck it in the cube anyways. seems to have lived. i am fine with this.
there are autos just starting flower out in the garage flowerzone. 1.5 months of veg for Class 001 and out into the flowerzone. if the autos aren’t finished out there by the time Class 001 is ready, the autos will get tossed outside to finish. not even sure why i started tose two anyways other than to finish off loose seed packs.
hashtag #ruthless
Autos getting close. the critical 2.0+ auto has some very bright orange pistils. starting to throw some heavy scent
Seedsman Critical 2.0+ Auto
topped, LST’ed and supercropped during veg. was getting far too tall for the space. seemed to respond well to each technique. was a vigorous grower. i have grown this one out before. it’s pretty good for a freebie. i like the flavor and the buzz. great node spacing and nug size. going to be a trimming breeze.
Seedsman Lemon Haze Auto
seemed to want to do the single cola thing. i’m not a fan. found some little t-rex arm branches down low and trained them out during veg. it’s paying off with some more cola tops. works for me. never grown this one before, so not sure what to expect. has been healthy the entire grow so can’t complain.
ZONE 1
week 2 of flower after the flip. got some stretch going on with amnesia (left). less stretch on the GxKK, but more sites overall. amnesia already throwin’ off some stank. had to do a bit more defoliation on both to allow some light and air-flow.
ZONE 2
clone mom blim-GDP has given up 3 sets of cuttings. going to let it sit for a bit. would really like to remove it and throw it into zone1 flower room, but not enough room and the hi-ya light would probably fry it.
new clone mom Gelat.OG got topped last week and is working on diggin in roots and sending out lateral branches. get some.
down below, the autos are just about done.
new additions are germinating. i have 4 different cuts of GDP. Ken’s, Shoreline’s, Blimburn and XOX (canadian breeder i met on RIU). i have grown out and tested the blimburn GDP on abuela. success, so i know that works for her, but it’s production is lower than desired. this brought about the search for other cuts. i have grown out shoreline with great success. it’s stll curing so have yet to sample, but the plants grew vigorous and healthy. i tried growing out Ken’s but the spidermites munched it… so gotta try again. IMO, that one didn’t grow as vigorously as blim or shoreline. so trying it again. decided also to pop an XOX so i can see how they all grow and produce. at some point, between all of them mates will be selected and seed will be produced. the ken and xox seeds cracked and popped tails 2 days ago. i plopped them in soil/solo cups yesterday. XOX is already doing it’s dirtburst. Ken’s laggin’. in Ken’s defense, the hole i dropped the seed down into was deeper than the XOX, so that could be a factor… however, the XOX seed was MASSIVE in comparison to other GDP seeds i have sewn so far. so there’s that. will see what they all bring. get some.
ZONE 3 - Clonezone ™
clonzone has been busy and i am proud to say i have 100% survival rate on all my cuttings. anyone who has known me for a bit and watched my clone antics would be impressed. i used to be a 1-3 in 10 survival rate for cuttings kinda guy less than a year ago. so this is pretty big for me. plus most of them are healthy and happy with their transplant to dirt. i have topped all of class 001 and class 002. class 003 cuttings are still in the dome above, but seem to be thriving. technoflora root gel and these spongy root cube things were absolute game changes for me. f^ck that powder sh*t. so aggravating. done trying to 3rd world my clones. i’m spoiled with the root cubes.
Seedman - Critical + 2.0 Auto
3rd or 4th time growing this out. for a freebie, it’s pretty damn good. find myself reaching for the jar often. good flavor, nice high. this one is going to be a trimming breeze (everything is a trimming breeze after blackberry and purple kush…)
the fresh white pistils are my mistake. gave them a bit of nutes meant for another plant days before the chop. i am still fine with this.
Seedsman - Lemon Haze Auto
first time growing this one out. kicked off a lot of scent after the wash. skunky/citrus. super lemon haze is on the list and scheduled for next year outdoors. figured i’d see if this auto terp profile is similar. limonene is supposed to be beneficial. will see. this one tried to do the single stem cola thing on me. i pulled the lower branches away and rewarded with some more cola tops. that’ll do. it was worthy of a can-parison.
Zone 1 - Week 3 Flower
Amnesia is doing great. nice and healthy.
GxKK is having some issues. branches directly under the light got a bit bleached out. thought it might be a nutes issue but it was due for it’s top dress at the beginning of the month. the part of the plant not directly under the light is just fine. hopefully it sorts itself out as the top dress works its way into the soil.
Zone 2 - GDP project
both Ken’s and Xox GDP cuts are growing at the same rate, but i see subtle differences in the leaf shape. Ken’s leaf shape seems to be growing more like the blimburn cut which i am most familiar with.
Zone 1 - Week 4 Flower
Amnesia is starting to fatten up. still nice and healthy. starting to throw a bit of stank… but it’s a good stank.
GxKK seems to be slowly recovering from the bleached out leaves issues. toasted parts are turning more lush green and the previously healthy parts are showing leaf tip burn. excellent combo… :\
i still think its going to sort itself out in time. we have been here before.
been ignoring this for a bit. took some time and cleaned everything up.
did some defoliation and pruning on the class 001-003 clones then took some time and cut larf and dead leaves off the autos. the purple punch auto is pretty close to finish. smells real good. the northern lights auto is coming along nicely. fattening up.
the plan on the clones is to let them get used to the new light and climate and then flip them 12/12 on 1 december. the autos will just keep doing what they’re doing. hopefully they finish up soon as class 004 and 005 need new homes… soon. though i am thinking i will keep a few alive til the spring and flip them outside when it’s warm enough. sun grown is just better IMO.
Week 6 flower.
Seem to be having nutes issues on both despite using tried and true methods.
The change here was my soil. This year have been recycling my organic soil mix. I don’t think I let this sit and ‘ferment’ long enough before sending back into circulation… GxKK had issue with it from the get go. Amnesia was far more forgiving to start, now getting me on the back end.
Lesson learned. Sadly to finish time detriment. :\
Week 8 flower.
nutes issue didn’t really right itself with the spots under the lights, but the outlying areas did. soil was f*cked up from the get go. my fault. lesson learned.
Amnesia is getting frosty and stinky. odd colored pistil hairs i have not seen before, so a bit unique.
GxKK is frosting up and seems a bit more sticky. its scent is a bit more subdued, but kicks off the stank when it’s brushed/moved. smells nice.
Zone1 week 8
Clone mom blimburn gdp is back on the road to recovery. healthy, already weaving the branches in the scrog net again. get some.
Clone mom seedsman Gelat.OG recovering from being hacked apart for cuttings. took 10 cuttings in total. have slathered with technoflora and popped into the root cubes. they are chilling in the clone zone, getting their roots on.
GDP seedlings from Ken and XOX are recovering from the “wrong friggin spray bottle” debacle of 2023. XOX seems to be more vigorous (where have we seen this before?). regardless, the goal is to take any of Ken’s seeds to successful completion. i keep reading where ken’s seeds perform underwhelmingly until they reach full veg and ~then~ take off… i have lowered my expectations.
Bottom Shelf
the 2 autos are doing their stretchies after i LST’ed and supercropped them. On the left is seedsman green crack auto and on the right is garden of green blue dream auto. NEED the blue dream auto to perform… abuela’s stash is very VERY low…
Left Side (twix)
ahhh… class 001 - 003 clones. they were doing so well. they went from lush healthy vigorous to yellowed and wilting… well SOME of them at least. there are a few that are healthy… all same soil. all same nutes. not all performing the same. they are slowing down the light flip. wanted to do it Dec 1st… still f*cking around with getting them healthy before the flip. kinda need this GDP supply for Abuela… mmmm-kay?
did another flush, another dollop of worm castings, some alaska fish fert and got irritated enough to put them out in the sun (was high 70’s and sunny) and wind for a few hours for a little kick in the ass. will see what it does.
stuck them outside. get some sun. DO SOMETHING.
garden buddies getting some sun. Queen Oxene and Emperor Chingdu.
outside recess for the class 001-003 clones
Right Side (twix)
These autos are done/just about done. NASC Purple Lemonade Auto is ready for chop. will do that tonight. very frosty. very stinky and sticky. sadly, small pot, small plant. regardless, it finished pretty friggin good IMO for a plant i was ambivalent about from the get go. single seed freebie with bulky packaging taking up space in the stash box. looks like it’s going to be some choice smoke.
Seedsman Northern Lights Auto is finishing up nicely as well. this is one to re-test on abuela. got some REAL northern lights seeds from a very generous OGer i intend to try outdoors next year.
Bottom Shelf
Class 004 and 005 clones. healthy, but back row needing some water. they tend to dry out quicker from the ventilation hitting them the most. all blim GDP.
top shelf clone moms still doing their recovery after cuttings taken. didn’t snap shot as nothing really noteworthy.
bottom shelf autos are starting to pack on the flowers. GCA is really packing it on. pretty impressive. BDA is coming along. the last time i grew these out they gave a great yield for in auto in a 2gal pot. this time it’s in a 4gal pot. expecting great things.
been neglecting some of the work necessary here. life stuff. had time today to get caught up on a bunch.
top shelf saw all the gelat.og clones transplanted to soil in solos. i saw some of the cuttings throwing roots at day 5. these were getting after it.
bottom shelf. i need to transplant these, but going to go a bit longer in the solos. waiting for the northen lights auto to finish out in zone4. once that space is avail, these will get the transplant and tossed out in zone4 for flip/flower.
this bottom shelf was having a REAL hard time staying hydrated in the solos. the old configuration wasn’t helping them retain water, so shuffled some gear around and put some saucers under them a few days ago. they seem a lot happier. i have an odd number of clones, so planning to pick one that will meet the sun in early spring and do it’s flip outside. the rest will go into zone4 when that space is avail. candidate for sunshine flip will get it’s own pot (4 or 5 gal) and stay in veg til it’s time.
this space was the most neglected. should have transplated the solos into 2gals BEFORE the flip, but here we are. again, life stuff. placed 4 clones per 2 gal.
i was able to get them somewhat stabilized nutes wise before the flip and transplant so i have that going into it. i have faith in my (FRESH) soil mix and the roots were in good shape for the transplant. they will be looking good in 2-3 weeks.
sadly, that was my last block of coco choir and the local HD and (b)Lowes are always out after planting season… expect the restock in spring. i could order online, but i have a few bags of peat moss and some of my recycled soil fermenting away outside in it’s container. should be ready in march… so not super crucial (at the moment).
right sde has Northern Lights Auto almost finished. 1-2 more weeks by the looks. fade coming on despite the top dress at beginning of month and weekly alaska fish fert feedings. smells really nice. pretty sticky.
