Super lemon haze looks awesome. I like your setup with the mesh around it. Looks good, if its ever legal where im at im copying your setup! Is it not keeping the bugs out?

getting through the list. i should finish with it next year. (ended up getting some more missing list strains this year, so they have been squeezed into the rotation)

been collecting some strains for myself. been itching to get to them, but staying focused on abuela’s meds. i DID slip some in this yeart. blueberry headband is ALL MINE… lol.

the GDP supply will be massive this year.
i am fine with this.

thank you for the compliments. appreciate you.

sadly, no, the mesh does NOT keep the bugs away. at all. i had actually used it for “air cover” so the helicopters and drones can’t see inside (as easily).
i learned the hard way last year that this mesh does f^ckall for keeping the bugs out. had them covering my grapevines on the backside of the fence to keep the leaf munchers away. it did not. didn’t even slow them down. but it DOES keep the birds and squirrels out. so that’ll do.

now… as far as the rest of my setup, the trellis came in late in this season. next year i will do it differently. it needs support on the sides AND the top as well. i neglected putting something on top thinking the sides could handle it. nope.
lesson learned. i think i’m going to make some double SCROG system for outside next year using the leftover metal fencing. my illegal state anxiety level with the plants 7 feet tall this year has been a bit much. going to go back to keeping them squat and discreet.

i’m actually kind of excited to sample the SLH. it looks and smells amazing. i have never tried it, but it’s on my sisters top 5 list. she’s been raving about it for a few years. too bad she lives so far away. :frowning:

Well at least its giving you some cover from overhead. Man i tried growing outside a couple times, bugs destroyed them everytime. Much respect to you outdoor guys, indoors 1000x easier.

yeah. the bugs can get pretty bad. this was the WORST year to date for bugs.
after the spring rains stopped and the 100F zero rain summer rolled in, the bugs came and never left. they ate the trees, grass, flowerbeds, vegetables and ganja. if it weren’t for the fact i take that sh^t personally, i would have probably given up this year. but they piss me off eating my hard work, so i go to war with them… and they put up a hell of a fight this year (equal measures of hatred and respect for my foe this season) but i will claim victory nontheless.

i will limp them to the finish line. a little beaten, a little bruised, but alive and productive.

i am new(er) to the indoor growing and still don’t feel as comfortable/confident as i do outdoor growing. my indoor sh^t is all cobbled together and not very high tech. but it’s functional and i turn out some serviceable ganj. i would like to up my game and get all the fancy gear, but my spaces are small and tents (and good lights) will not fit. sooooo… stuck with what i’ve got and try and make the best of it. :man_shrugging:

I couldn’t agree more! It’s really beautiful, and appears really functional. Looks like everyone is fairly easily accessible with lots of light. :+1:

I’m not surprised. The little fuckers are like water, they pretty much go wherever they want.

Your grow is so beautiful! d8JBdDJ

thanks for the compliments guys. appreciate y’all.
(and i’m always thinking it all looks like sh^t because i’m using scrap materials…)

yeah, they really do. the spidermites probably drop out of the trees like paratroopers and walk on through the mesh without issue.
there were a bunch of plants at the beginning of the season that seemed resistant to the bugs. nothing was on them, but they got sprayed anyways as a preventative.
now? everything got hammered. so aggravating. by the end of the season it almost seemed as if they were resistant to the spinosad.

need to dig up johnny’s one and done recipe again… :worried:

just wanted to drop some love to you from one state to the east. My mother passed from the effects of Alzheimers, I wish that I would have known about the help that cannabis would have given during that time. I didn’t grow or smoke during that time period so… sigh.

That said, it led me to do a lot of research, from which I began growing my own, and sharing my harvest with folks who needed the medicine.

I suggest that you have a look at a couple of other natural things to help your mom.

  1. Lions Mane Mushrooms, and Turkey Tail Mushrooms (clinically proven to assist with and encourage new brain cell growth in damaged area’s of the brain) super easy to grow. (or purchase a mushroom powder mix that includes it. Mix into tea / coffee etc)

  2. Roselle / Hibiscus effective in reducing inflammation in nerve tissues, makes the most delicious jam.

  3. Lemon Balm, Turmeric, Ginger. use liberally for cooking / teas

Between the Weed, and the above supplements, there is a good chance that you will be able improve her quality of life to near normal. Which would be awesome.

Much love, excellent plants and grows, Keep rocking that green thumb! if your ever around Toledo Bend area, stop in and say hey.

appreciate you stopping by.
sorry to hear about your mom.

appreciate your tips/tricks. my wife is utilizing most of the vitamins/herbs on your list. will let her know about the mushrooms.

thanks.

Outdoor 2024 - Update

1st to Finish!

It’s Chop Day for HSC’s PPD. this one was an easy grow, but seemed to be a spidermite magnet. battled to keep them off all season. regardless, was able to get it to the finish line with some semblance of style intact.

it smelled AMAZING during the wash. sweet, berries, incense, floral. so very pleasant. i couldn’t really smell these scents while it was growing. they sure came out in the wash though.

got 7 packed hangers out of it. looking forward to sampling, and hope it works for abuela.

the netting doesn’t really help with picture focus… lets go inside.

the plant produced several CANparison sized colas.

no cans, so you’ll have to deal with a HANDparison

still fighting bugs, but too late in season to use poison anymore. annoying i have to keep washing off the colas every night (with hose water), but the bugs have forced my hand. undoubtedly the WORST year for bugs i have had to date. is it possible for them to become immune to the spinosad? it certainly seems to be the case at this point.

Smells real nice in here…

so… next candidate for chop (prolly later today) will be sour diesel. is it ready? nope. does it need more time? yup. but it’s getting cut regardless. it’s inbred HSC trait of the spindly WEAK branches is taking it’s toll. i am losing colas, not only to bugs, but it’s own brittle branches… they just keep snapping and i keep losing colas this way. done with it. at this rate, if i DO wait till it’s finished i won’t have anything left. the branches are going to keep snapping. rainy season looms on the horizon. i’m making the command decision to chop it now and salvage what i can from this ravaged plant.

after much though, i think i’m going to just take a plant every 4 or 5 days to stagger the drying and trim times. took me a full 10hr day yesterday to trim up PPD. i’m going to go insane if i have back to back trim days like i have for the last 4yrs. there are going to be a lot of “close enough” harvests this year. i grew the plants WAY too big this year.

Ya i feel you on that man, bigger isnt always better. Everything still looks great, good days ahead after all the hardwork. Good luck on your harvest

thank you.

i dunno what possessed me to let them get so big this year. half that size is what i usually do. was a good learning experience though (and practice for the retirement land… heh)

bigger = more watering
bigger = more nutrients
bigger = more surface area for f^cking bugs…

i got to do an early sample on the PPD yesterday while trimming. that one smells SO nice. very floral… tropical flowers smell. a touch of incense, a touch of sweet. needs more cure for the flavors, but the buzz was smooth and nice.

there are many more out there i can’t wait to sample. i’m not much of a sativa fan. but purple haze has me intrigued. huge colas and smells amazing.

Haha exactly more money to spend on products, dirt, etc. Whats that green indica 2nd to last picture bottom left. Looks very happy and productive. Sounds like you got bitten by the haze bug! Haze anything is always great smoke, tends to very long lasting high. So you aint gotta smoke half of what you normally would.:v:

you talking about this one?

this one

if yes, that is seedsman’s “the white og”.
agreed. it has been a pretty structured and healthy plant it’s entire grow. very easy. top dress and water. has/had been (up until last 2 weeks) resistant to the insects as well. very excited to see how it finishes.

Oh ya thats the one, it caught my eye out of everything. That’s whats great about seed grows, any great plant can appear from any seedline tbh. Nice man. Be hanging around to watch your harvests. :v:

i grew out super silver haze last year. it was ok. worked for abuela. it just didn’t really “wow” me. could have been the cut. i’m not opposed to growing again.

this year i have purple and super lemon. both have grown impressively. i was really impressed with super lemon till the bugs got ahold of it. they liked that one… unfortunately. it was really pretty… and i don’t say that often. now it’s beat the f^ck up. but i’ll get it to the finish line. at least it’s branches don’t snap like HSC. i am super disappointed with that trait. and people cream over HSC. starting to wonder why. none of my blimburn or GOG plants have been so weak and fragile. once again GOG putting out two stars of the garden this year. cali bay dream and purple haze. and bliburn with this super lemon haze.
the bugs were friggin TERRIBLE this year. wave after wave. we stand and they died, but they did some serious damage this year.

it’s stacking up nice now, but lacks frost. it seems to be lagging behind where one would think an indica dom plant would be. the other indica dom plants are very near harvest. this one looks like it’s in week 4… way behind.

TRUTH.
and the opposite is true as well. have had entire dud seed packs from expensive breeders people goo over, while the “inferior” breeders have put unexpected stars in the garden more often than not.

you can come help me trim… i’ll let you.

2nd to Finish!

well… more of a “mercy” finish. this plant was all kinds of f^cked up. bugs tore it up, then it did the HSC weak/snappy limbs thing. triage says it’s time to end everyone’s misery.

no superduper photos. there REALLY wan’t anything photogenic about it.
cut it down, pulled off a lot of dead sh^t, tossed a bunch in the compost pile and whatever looked good enough to keep, got washed and hung to dry outside. got 5 hangers out of the salvage. probably another 2 or 3 hangers ended up in the compost. i’m ok with that. can’t burn myself out on trimming too soon. got a lot more to go.

stuff that made the cut to the wash table

ended up with 5 hangers.

not sure who will be up next. a toss up between:
blueberry headband
AC GDP
cali bay dream
black sugar

they are all at about the same spot. trichs still showing a handful of clears, but mostly milky. not seeing very many if any ambers yet.
