Ya welcome to OG @MLTVKYL . I’m fairly new here as well and this bunch has been very welcoming.
Some incredible generosity on this site as well.
I see most of the folks posting here are from Ontario… well I’m out west in the wilds of the BC interior 5 hrs north of Vancouver.
Stick around, you’ll enjoy yourself )
Perfect meme @Pigeonman
Thanks @TopShelfTrees1 , my second option was this:
Hey, at least in the west we got the milk in jugs an cartons.
Not like those folks that got the bag milk.
Just poking fun at the milk bag drinkers.
I’m a jug man myself…cause making this with a bag is just wrong…
Bahaha yikes!
Guelph here neighbor buddy!
I know, it was weird. I was travelling and I guess they don’t refrigerate milk until it’s been opened. Like heat treated probably. Cheaper than mass refrigeration?
And you know, cartons, inferior.
Where was this @Foreigner ? Surely not in Canada?
That said I am a Jug/carton kind of guy. It’s all I remember…except a faint possible memory of a 70s/80s green plastic open top jug thing for bags…possibly with a bag…but I can’t actually recall anything more than that.
I was in Panama and it seemed very strange to me.
But grade A farm fresh ontario plastic milk bag all the way.
This seems to be the answer why some is refrigerated and some not. Why Some Milk Is Not Refrigerated (and an explanation of UHT) ⋆ 100 Days of Real Food
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a thing
Yeah different pasteurization standards makes a lot of sense.
I can report that it was just fine, in fact milk, with no weird processed tastes but I only use it in my coffee.
I’m with you in the wilds of B.C., about 8 hours from Vancouver!
I actually remember this in ! They were cartons like the Ceres Fruit Juices but cow-juice.
all the little milk and cream for coffee on the tables at greasy diners ???
they are uht treated and don’t need refrigeration…
London area is covered.
Welcome Bro
If any of y’all are in my neck of the woods, or in Ontario in general, stay warm out there.
It’s colder than my ex wife’s house ffs.
I went on a 45 minute walk and my eyebrows became icicles and my eyelashes froze together. It’s lethal in the shade.
