The Canadian Contingent (Part 1)

Oh yeah I’d go with the Lee Valley one if you’re gonna be tilling rocky soil.

You should just get a metal detector anyways and punk the Lagina’s spending all that money to uncover Templar goodies.

Marc Emery is not a hero. Not even close.

I have it already, just been waiting on some warmer weather to go out and use it. Going out tomorrow down to St Margarets bay area about 15K from Oak Island next bay along from Mahone Bay. With all the pirate, Spanish, Portuguese, French and British using this area as a repair, food and water stop, after and before crossing the Atlantic, I am hoping there is a lot more around here than just Oak Island to dig on.

Cheers man, I used to borrow my brothers detector back 40 odd years ago, whenever I went out I would find coins or broken jewelry.

Never thought of doing it here really, even watching Oak island since it started, didn’t make me think about it. After a conversation with the wife about Oak island and my brothers detector, she said, why don’t we get one, something to make you go outside apart from the dog lol.

I am doing a bit of research atm on NS ghost towns to investigate, a lot of beaches here are provincial parks and you can’t detect on them, from what I am reading on the government Web site, but not 100% sure the wording is very ambiguous as usual with government regs.

I really enjoy the history side of the program, if they do get any treasure it’s a bonus.

Renfrew gold mines is a good place to start. You need a 4 wheeler or a 4x4 on most of the trails back there but I know the rivers have promising corners for gold. I did a lot of off roading back there but always thought of bringing a metal detector but never did

I didn’t call him a hero, but I do admire some dicks who just don’t take no for an answer. While I sit and excercise my right to criticize say, freedom convoys, anti-abortionists or Russian olympians from my couch, I also admire these people who have the BALLS to get out there, put their lives or freedom on the line, in order to fight the Man or Cancer or forced needles. It’s the least I can do (like tipping my hat) after I sit here and reap the benefits of a speeded (yet flawed) legalization or speeded end to a mandate. No offence dude, I’m Canadian. Cheers

Yeah I spoke with a guy I worked with several years ago, as he goes mudding in his truck up around there. He has found some small nuggets lying on the surface after heavy rain.

I checked the area out on Google maps a while a go, it’s on the list of places to visit.

@sprinklememaynee cheers for the video, might visit there next time we go to Cape Bretton.

Cheers will do :+1:

We usually stay at Auld Farm B and B in Baddeck and go around the trail anti clockwise. Usually the wife is eating seafood all the time there and lunch time is usually an hour or 2 before getting to Chetticamp but we normally stop for a gas top up there.
