The Central American landrace and heirloom thread (Part 1)

Sure thing, assuming everything goes as planned there will be plenty.

Just finished watering and checking for foreign invaders (all good). Here’s some random shots of the Oaxacan PS’es (3)

I can’t get my phone to show what I see. But the little bracts are pretty frosty :slightly_smiling_face:

This bastard is a female, but absolutely refuses to boost up the flower production  I forgot to check the tags to even say how long it’s been — and I’m comfortable now, so I ain’t going back to look haha

And at least one looks like a string of pearls!

“Pearl stem”.

You’d have to get the full story from @Upstate , but it’s my understanding that these were bred/are going to be continually bred to exhibit that trait.

And yes! @romanoweed
I should’ve taken a better pic now that I look at it again. Some time ago, I found a very similar looking plants from a different stash of Oaxacan stock (pictures)

If nothing else, I think it’s neat :slightly_smiling_face:

I remember seeing pics of Destroyer wheat pheno and everyone assumed it was thai dom.
But, the mother being Lumbo x Mexi, Im wondering if the wheat pheno is infact Mexican

A buddy of mine did that, and it made his plants stay in pre-flower for several weeks. These were autos he planted in first part of May. It seems like they were confused, since they were receiving increasing amounts of sunlight every day and were being LST’ed.

Off topic: I grew out an Ace auto NorthernLights/Malawi and dusted it with some pollen from my male Oaxaca and produced a few seeds. I won’t be able to get to them for at least a year. If someone is willing to grow them out to produce F2s and/or F3s, please send me a PM. The auto NL/Malawi is an awesome auto, and combined with Oaxaca will almost certainly make it even better.
Now back to our scheduled broadcast.

Old Silversides. Damn is it good this time.
Done to perfection. Had to pick her or she would have started spilling pollen.
@lambchopedd wow they got big! I just brought mine in and put them in two gallon containers.
I’ve had that bead pheno before. It’s the only one I will eliminate from the line. For obvious reasons lol

Here’s a description that I assume comes from SnowHigh: :grinning:

Description

A few bags of seeds from a friend who smuggled weed from Punta Cometa from the 1970’s to early 1980’s… this lot was from a bag from 1974′. These are from smugglers loads coming from the mountains, so they could be from Mixteca, Ixtlan in Sierra Norte, Sierra Sur, Valles Centrales and some loads coming from the Oaxaca side of Vera Cruz. These are delicate sativas that can form nice long colas or smaller clusters. Flowers turn orange and pink and shades of other colors. Flowers have a woody aroma and smell of ripe fruit similar to papaya or mango. The Oaxaca 74′ grows about 5 to 6 feet, but could grow taller if given the root space to grow. No intersex traits or sensitivity to nutrients but as a rule treat all Mexicans from these southern states with kindness and don’t try to push with fertilizers or over water. Outdoors some phenos can finish in September or October. This is a limited release of a strain from a different time. Try to make more and share.

Awesome! Thank you Tejas and PineTarBastard. Yeah, the second one is poking through the soil now, so hopefully I get a couple more too. I will definitely not throw away any males of this line. I have Red Snake pollen in the freezer so can hit any females as well.

I was just looking at the map btw…I notice that Punta Cometa is not far from Zipolite Playa which is where the Bodhi Oaxacan was from. I will be very interested to see how these go.

Please correct me if i am wrong, but i believe that before he introduced Zipolite, Bodhi introduced Highland Oaxaca Gold/Alter Ego. I can’t find the description for it, but i believe he thought very highly of his original H.O.G.

Snowhigh said this punta cometa Could be from anywhere in Mexico. I’m very curious to find out the actual flowering time. @TexasTea Can’t wait to see what these become!
@PineTarBastard is the Alter Ego Oaxaca from Bodhi?
Check out this picture Of Old Silversides after taking it out of a Walmart bag that it has been curing in for a few days. I love sticky pot. I think I could throw this and it would stay together like a football. I’m one lucky guy😁. My Uncle stopped in last night for dinner and had a little smoke with me . One puff. He said Old Silversides blows away the Cali pot he has tried recently. He couldn’t get over the potency.

There are absolutely :100: % many more plants like this one to be found in the seeds i passed out. Some will be Old Silversides herself, like this one.
