The Central American landrace and heirloom thread (Part 1)

They do get big when planted in the ground. I chopped a bunch of flowers from the Oaxaca i have growing in the bucket. It seems to be a couple of weeks ahead of the Oaxaca in the raised bed. It was starting to show a few amber trichomes. I’m sure it could go longer, but i have limited space for drying, and winter is fast approaching. The MDS will be up next. Better to harvest early than not at all. haha

How sick are people who decry Colombia…and don’t understand the problems in Colombia…

But in the same voice…say where is my next line of cocaine is coming from… Hypocrisy at its best. Europe and USA control. this pressure.

So sad .now it’s Canadian and Dutch companies, who paid the bribes to get licenses to grow in Colombia…( and get them… flying in clones in Veg to Colombia…to flower…and pay the locals $1.20 a hour …is fucking sick….llllColombia doesn’t need cookies or Geleto…all for export to Europe etc…fucking sick…what about of levilling up…

Why doesn’t anyone expose this …ye the Herb will always be political …and I don’t apoligise .

Let’s talk politics …ye tourism In Medellin now for tourism is visiting Finca Napoli .Escobars place. The hero who destroyed Colombia…

Uriba wasn’t much better …but between him and the FARC…the people of Colombia had no voice…just destroy.or tear gas them when they complain…

We on this thread should all hang our heads in shame…and be in unity with the people of Colombia…it’s same in every country in the world that the Herb has been complicated…Afghanistan, Kashmir, etc

As other folks have said.lose your family and live for growing weed…maybe it’s a thing all us on OG don’t understand the freedom some of us have.

Ye I’m a Socialist …I believe in independence, but most folks don’t have a vote in Cental America

Sorry I’ve made my point…wither you agree or not…but OG is a liberal a free Porton.

Bueno suerte

It’s only a Herb.

One love xx

Let’s all suffer for our insanity

Here’s a picture i took this morning of the Oaxaca in the raised bed. It’s pretty much defoliated herself.

This morning, i noticed that some of the branches are beginning to turn brown and die off.

I was going to wait 2-3 weeks before beginning to harvest her, but will now probably start next week.
@Upstate I’d be very interested in your opinion. Do you think the branches dying means it’s time to harvest, or should i wait?

How does this one smell? This looks like the big green one I had, only bigger! lol

I’m kinda bad with describing smells, but I’d describe it as a sweet floral scent. Both of my Oaxacas and the MDS smell very similar.

I understand you brother, you can risk your life if you tell your wife that you are going with the guys from overgrow to Medellín😁

is a shame and it pains me to say it but it is the reality, in Colombia there is no cannabis culture, not like other regions that know the value of their landraces, in Colombia it has only been one more product for sale, very few people really love cannabis plant and do not usually have the power to do something, there you need power and money for anything.
Getting a permit is a crazy thing and if you manage to set something up, be prepared that they will surely extort you. It’s all about who you know and how much you have.

So all the cannabis business in Colombia will be controlled by foreign capital. If a foreigner does not arrive to protect the landraces from there, I doubt very much that someone will.

Home made cross, ChupaCobra. It’s CBG Purple Mexican (Oaxacan 79 x PCK) x CBG Red Snake (Oaxacan 79 x Punto Rojo). So basically half O’79 and a quarter Colombian and quarter Citral Kush.

I cut a couple branches over the weekend since we’re flirting with frost. She isn’t quite done and could really use two more weeks, but I wanted to make sure I got at least a little off of it. We shall see if we get lucky for another two days and then we will be in the clear for at least another week.

Sampling some half dry bud tonight and it’s definitely early, speedy and up effect. But pretty decent. Smells like carrots and fuel.

I had some random branches die with Huixtepec. Not sure what it is but it isn’t related to maturity in my case. Hows the buds look? Getting close? I see happy leaves up top. I’d say she’s just lightening her load a little and you can leave it…

Nice looking nugs. Good resin. Dont blame you for sampling before frost. Best to be safe, but I don’t think you have to worry about frost ruining the plant. Worst case scenario it stunts further floral development. Every tropical Sativa I’ve tested has survived frost down to 30 degrees. Oaxaca died in the upper teens or low 20’s but handled multiple frosts first. Jamaica longflower survived 5 this year before succumbing to the 6th. The PCK genes in your cross might make your strain even tougher. Fingers crossed!
Your floral clusters look unfamiliar to me. Is this the Colombian showing herself? Whats the taste?

There’s some pics from both of the Oaxacas in posts 3966 and 3977. I harvested a bunch of flowers from the one in the bucket on Tuesday.
