The Central American landrace and heirloom thread (Part 3)

Damn I’m sorry to hear the weather has been so crappy. It’s been strange as hell here too. The candyberry cross looks like it’s happy though!

Only two outside now.

The ghost

This looks like it might be something!

And one other Guerrero I’ll get some shots of shortly.

It’s sometimes sad when you harvest…but in the end when you have done a good grow…So Satisfying…and sweet when you taste your homegrown.

You done a fantastic grow…and great pics on your posts.

Thing is they all look so at home in your Garden with your lovely shiplap finished house…they matched well…

So these santa marta Colombian gold have purple strips on the calyxes the rest of plant is green except pink pistils. Ive found a couple nanners on top buds. I think they are my fault from putting plants in shed at night but not pulling out at the same time everyday stressed a bit.

can you see the purple stripes on calyxes? She is starting to swell a bit so hopefully within the 4wk mark lol

I’ve harvested ten or twelve Oaxacan phenos graciously and generously bred and provided by @deeez99, and my feelings on this strain are that it’s definitely worth growing!

I did harvest two that I thought were mids. Sub-par as herb, but still very smokable and destined for lime gummies. A couple were exceptional, and worth hanging onto clones. And the rest is smokable, good weed that I need to smoke about 20% more of that still provides a nice buzz.

Most phenos yielded really well, and for the first time, I have enough herb to last me the next year after giving a lot away. Most finished more quickly than I expected, and two finished after several nights well below freezing.

It’s my feeling that hunting a standout fire pheno will be pretty easy, since I found one this summer. This is pretty close to a perfect strain, as far as I’m concerned.

I think you’re going to be growing it a lot after your first harvest.

Quick updates with advice needed!
First oaxacan from @upstate repro

shes about 13-14 wks about a week ago threw more white pisitls. Now all trics are cloudy even the ones on the newest growth. what do you excellent sativa growing skills members think?

Santa marta Colombian gold is just doing her thing. In my noobish wisdom decided to put these girls in the shed at night cause we were getting a few nights below 35°f. Now this has had unintended consequences. I didnt get up at the crack of dawn to let these girls out more like an hour or 2 later. This sudden light schedule changes caused her to throw nanners at almost every bud tip. I picked them all off with a tweezers this morning. That being said i think some seeds might have been produced so might have some s1 of this amazing strain. Since they are imo stress related nanners and not genetics should be non hermie fems! Heres pic what do you think?

rest of plant

oops second pic shows the no pistil swollen calyxes

Nope. All three Oaxacan crosses were males and I trashed them. My outside stuff did terrible between the constant rain for the first half of summer and then that turned to a prolonged drought. I got a few grams of Mountain Gold and an ounce or so off my Oaxacan reveg plants. Guatemalas were a bust and I lost my Michoacan Cream to rot and mildew. Oh well.

Meanwhile, I’m up to my eyeballs with alligators. I just put five Red Snake x Pearly Oaxacan into flower a couple of weeks ago and I’m thinking all five may be female. In veg are two Deep Purple Dashti from the Indian Landrace. Also a couple of Mountain Golds and just popped an Oaxacan Gold fem from Green Mountain that he just released this fall. It’s gonna be a Winter in Mexico for me!

Well @TexasTea , have been enjoying Vmans work for a few years - do you know the lineage of that fem Oaxacan Gold? - is it an S1 or a sibling fem run of his old Oaxacan line, or a hybrid with the new Oaxacan accession he was trialling this year? Hopefully some on the way to me for next season. Had a similar sounding summer - wet first half, dry end, but probably not as extreme here in tame weather Ireland.

Take em if they’re cloudy, fine to have a few fresh pistils, it’s optimum ripeness resin we’re lookin for.

Try a quick dry sample of the SMCG?

I believe he said he gave seeds to a friend years ago who maintained the line. Then he used seeds from those to breed back some vigor and then created S1 from the progeny.

ill take a sample but pretty sure she has 3wks or so. Of course i have no frame of reference to think that than watching other plants finish. Thanks for advice i think oaxacan is prime. The last 4 days the stink coming off her has gotten very intense so the chop is eminent!

It’s stereotypical, and is fully cloudy as well as ready, when all the pistils are brown. If it’s cold it’ll eventually stop pushing out green pistils, but if all your pistils are brown and it’s still pushing a few light green it’s probably ok. As others have said, don’t wait for a lot of amber. After my first few harvests I quit using my microscope because with this strain you really don’t need it. At least that’s my takeaway.

Harvested another Punto Rojo 17.5 weeks this was my least favorite from early smoke samples. This one threw a couple of nanners @US3RNAM3

My Santa Marta Colombian gold has me stumped a bit hopefully @YoBigdaddy or someone else can help.
She seems pretty filled out and has lot of cloudy trics but lots of pink and white pistils like every nug head. She is also throwing nanners but I think this is cause of me messing with the light schedule. Anyways the question is even though pistils look young is it possible that she’s ready?
