yes, i agree as well. i wished there had been more contributions to this fdm competition. his seed mix packs are such a great deal!
hopefully in a few months i’ll have photos of some fdm plants to share, as i dropped 3 seeds from his cinderella mix and 4 seeds from his durban mix this past 4/20 as part of my very first grow. they are all doing quite well right now and it feels like they’re treating me well as a new grower.
i can’t wait to see how they progress, as i’ve heard great things about cinderella 99 and i am a fan of durban poison myself.
I think the FDM mix packs are probably the single best deal in seeds I’ve seen. Especially if you get the two pack deal. I got all of them and started with the OG mix, couldn’t be happier with them so far! I gotta get some good photos tonight now that they’re in late flower to post to and see if B or anyone else can help me guess which of the OG cuts each is, they’re pretty visibly different but both quite nice.
oh super cool, i’ll have to check out your grow journal when i get a chance. i noticed you are (were?) running a c99 from baudelaire. how did it turn out?
@highminwin Right now I have 2x OG mix in late flower, I’m smoking some C99 as I type that’s been curing for about two months. It was a great plant, responded really well to a single topping in veg then breaking the stems over and staking them horizontal. It just hulked out and produced more than any other plant that run, very easy and good natured, didn’t seem to care about anything except gulping water and nutes, it started fading prematurely before anything else in the same dirt. The smell was absolutely raunchy, a mix of grapefruit and pineapple, with some funk in there I described as “YMCA men’s locker room” (something like BO, sour sweat, dirty socks, and musk) and a little fuel. I didn’t get “evil pineapple” but this pheno I got showed me the potential for that lurking in the seeds.
Cured it’s mostly smooth grapefruit and a trace of skunky gas, a little spice in the back of the throat. Really nice stuff, medium density buds on mine, but not in a bad way, the way I can just grab a handful and strip the stems, grind it up with my fingers. My first hit of the day is almost always this, and it’s a full eye-opener with a little shoulder blade twinge and wiggle. Smokes clear and functional, even energetic. I usually have an urge to get up and go do something when I finish a joint, like right now I’m getting down on one and thinking about what to cook for dinner, that I gotta finish washing the shoes in the basement I set to soak, etc. I have ADHD and while I like smoking indicas to slow down they get in the way of processing thoughts to get things done, I noticed a long time ago that a good Cindy or Jack always (including this one) lets me chill without interfering with executive function and choice paralysis stuff, I just go do shit. Not always the shit I intended to do, but it’s not sitting around thinking weed for me. So cerebral, but in an engaged way I guess. Sometimes psychedelic, especially first thing in the day when the sun’s coming out.
I love the dawn bowl! Watching the sun come up, the animals going wild foraging before the heat of day, feeling like you might be the only person awake, the warmth of the first rays of sunshine!
I missed out on this one but I am sitting on some fdm gear. I wish I had a chance to run! It will be in the near future so I’m pretty excited

@Dirt_Wizard Cindy has been my “dawn bowl” for about 20 years. No matter chocolate-box variety of buds I have in my stash, my hand finds the Cindy it seems. Your description of the Cindy head is about as accurate and illustrative as I’ve heard.
If you like the Cindy 99 high, but wouldn’t mind a bit more body, try the Princess 88. I like to call it my club weed. Up yet mellow.
oh man, that sounds fantastic! that’s the sort of blend i’ve been enjoying more of recently… cerebral but with some body. i’ve totally passed over the princess 88 when reading about it on your site before, but i’ll definitely pick some up when i make my next round of seed purchases.
I have a pack of that still untouched! It’ll have to go into the fall rotation, I’ve been curious how it will be. At this point I really need to do an all-FDM run with how many packs I have to choose from, especially after this contest.
