The Forest Treehouse - CannabisSequoia's Growing Again :-)

5/14/2023 update – THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANKS, MOM!!!

Red Cherry Berry F3, week 3-4ish :man_shrugging: starting to smell tropical, I hope it turns berry berry.

The seedlings are all healthy & are finishing up 3 long nights to hurry the ID’ing. I95 x Stardawg is already loud stinky & gassy :joy: I think I’ll save any males & keep the pollen. @Ftlob – you’re first in line for free pollen if I get any.

This time they were planted in a mix of 3/4 perlite, 1/4 promix, then mixed that with 30% EWC, the maximum I’ve seen recommended(10% for seedlings, IIRC). 2 of the Northernberry X Blueberry looked either N-deficiient or high-pH, which I chalk up to imperfectly blended soil. Probably just got a funky lump in those pots. :man_shrugging: ( One is visible, bottom left, #2 from left.) The first feeding with Sea-Grow & Aloe seems to have greened everybody up.

Cupholder 2.0, (now in revision 3)

I love the ease of the solo-cup-holders & have started making holders for 1 gallon pots. :hammer: My woodshop skills needed refreshing, for sure, this isn’t rough framing or demolition or hurry-up work like I usually got to do. My saw isn’t a masterpiece but neither am I  … the shoe/plate had loosened & wasn’t square for a good hour :man_facepalming: PoS…

Not sure if I’ll do enough for 48 plants, really doubt I’ll get 100% females, so will start with 24 until I see the sexes showing. More than 6 of those trays to move around could be a real PITA.

:evergreen_tree: Notice the old solar water pump house gone?

A true carpenter! Along with all of the other tools, you have a sledge hammer real close. So, when nothing else works, you can make it work!

Hey, I finally found some great cup holders. I think I got these at Walmart, but nursery’s should have them, too.
It’s the ones that hold the “Bonnie” brand type of plants. They throw them out after they empty. They’re real easy to move around. This is a pic of one in a seed tray.

But, I dig the DIY way, too. When you’re alone all of the time, it’s easy. :v:

6/4/23 update not a lot going on :man_shrugging:

I rarely get to see a sunset on this side of Big Island, but just to remind myself it DOES happen… (Just had a month of rain :unamused: )

Red Cherry Berry F3 end of week 5, smells delicious :stuck_out_tongue:

All my starts. Still waiting to ID the Northernberry & Harlequin x Bangi Haze x Jaguar.

6/12/23 update

Day 43 RCB f3

This hasn’t been sprayed at all in flower or had a circulation fan when garaged at night so considering that, the 2 little tops with budrot shouldn’t be a big disappointment.

I love the smell & it’s photogenic too; never had a plant go purple without cold nights :man_shrugging:

If budrot starts in hard it’ll get the axe early.

This is why I think it’s good to trim back the feed at week 4 :joy: because it’s flush time & harvesting asap 🥹

28 seem all girly
The smugglers choice Burmese gave 4/4 males so none of that this round :unamused:

Will probably flip in a couple weeks & am unsure if or how I’ll prune them.

That cherry berry got 2/3 defoliation :scream::scream_cat: on every branch. Definitely not doing that to many or maybe even any of these.

———-

After all the rain & other problems I’ve had here I’ll probably be selling this place & moving back to California. It’s just too much time spent inside or pissed off or depressed. Not glad to do it but I need quiet more than balmy temperatures. The hearing disorders make it so.

I resent it but after 2 rainy seasons & crazy neighbor problems I know it won’t change.

It’s mostly disappointment in my own disabilities & not being able to cope with noise(at all).

Confounding it all is some days here are fucking heaven— today for example— quiet breezy & partly cloudy. It’s a state holiday (king kamehameha birthday day) so that may factor in… but overall it’s shitty (IMO) about 60% of the time :man_shrugging:

Was buying groceries last night & thought I might score something from the leftovers buffet & saw 10$ for 2 corn dogs 🤦 marked down to 5 since they were 8 hours old. Wtf

On the positive side, red lava rock is ridiculously cheap here :joy: 14$ a yard, so I’m getting a full shitload delivery & will hopefully have a level area & greenhouse to finish these. Also hopefully do another run with every remaining strain in my collection.

That’s my primary growing goal: to grow every pack ever given to me. Probably a claim few growers can tout. :sunglasses:

Other than that I hope to take RCB from f3 to f5 asap, make a shitload of f6 & blanket the forum with them. Also need to breed some of these great landraces to it. (Indian, png, burmese, vietnam/s. Korea)…

The Aussie bastard cannabis may be the only one I skip  & give to a homie.

Aloha

You need double pane windows and sound proofing no matter where you live it seems. I was surprised the noise didn’t drive you crazy when you visited. The airport, freeway, my windchimes… lol

Nice plants! Well done.

Yeah-- actually double-windows with double-panes  like inner & outer window. Acoustically-speaking  I’m most comfortable at the bottom of a well, under a library basement, or a padded cell. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Either that or many many acres of nothingness  which is desert or mountain(or open ocean).

There was only a couple times when I was visiting (& stinking up your place) that the noise got to me…I think it was airport commute times. LA traffic doesn’t move fast most of the time versus our old house in Sacramento(Mini LA) where the sound of tires emanates from every direction.

Thanks

Yeah, it is strange. Each of the islands has slightly different climates and differing climate zones on each island, further complicated by elevation/altitude(it gets colder up higher). Predicting weather is impossible beyond an hour, whereas I knew the next 10 days at least back home. That makes having any plans basically impossible & gardening here is much different with the high rainfall. I bought some hibiscus plants and they were planted in cinder(lava rock) with a small amount of bark/wood & some granular synthetic fertilizer on top. Anything else & roots will rot here. 180 deg/ opposite of my old home, humidity-wise.

I think my plants are happier than me  but I do very much realize:

I don’t have it so bad, have a home & a clean toilet in Hawaii… & feel guilty for complaining :man_shrugging:

Thanks for listening

haha wow. great photo seqouia.
it looks as if a battle between the short broad leaves of the dank sinatra and the long thin leaves of the blue dream took place within the plant,
and the fighting was so ferocious that the leaf was ripped in twain!

Here’s how I figured out what was going on with my hearing problem. Weird as it is. Saw it on a TV show I’d normally not be watching.

I have it in one ear but ringing(tinnitus) in both. It came on suddenly when I was dog walking & I thought I was having a stroke with vertigo for like 30 seconds & it just stopped but my left ear’s been fucked since.

Hyperacusis sounds terrible :hear_no_evil:, I think you should plan to visit a specialist :ear:, those kind of things don’t go away by themselves…

07/25/23 no photo update

Day 47 of flower…nice smells on most but not all, chopped 1 Red Cherry Berry F3 & 1 Nigerian Sunshine x Grape Stomper OG because of rot. One Northernberry was runty & one was a dude, so now down to 24 plants.

Weird thought: Those buds weren’t suuuuper chunky but they WERE drippers of resin  which makes me wonder if there’s a resin limit to the plant in high humidity. Like it can’t breathe & just stays wet because the trichome jungle is like a nylon windbreaker or rubber raincoat.

The I-95 smells changed at like week 3 & started getting fruity so the skunk-gas-chem is a suppressed a lot. Might have evaporated in the higher temps here.

Lost a little bit of Dank Sinatra x BBHP which IS a chunky little thing.

Gave in & ordered a bunch of new beans  because I have a birthday next month

Would love to know any experiences with these:

The Freedom Fighter LE caught my eye – duke’s 88g13 with sub’s spacedude – OG all day
The Nirang Village because I’ve been fiending for some land race. wish i could get all of em
True Love – because True sounds like a guy I could live with. grower with passion.
Blueberry Muffin – because Nat’s daughter had me sold
Sour Blutooth – because it was BOG’s last creation
Skunk Puck BX2 – because I want to try Bob’s work

Right on @Ftlob :+1: I’d bet there’s some info on helping pass the test here on OG

The Stardawg x I-95 stuff seems to send me straight to paranoia-town & will send you the rest of the pack some time in the next few months. Am getting ready to sell my house & hope to be back in CA before spring.
