Curious, what’s your custom soil recipe look like? That is - if its not a secret
@Phil_Bombs Glad you asked, no secrets here.
The recipe is 3 parts ProMix, Air, Compost plus amendments.
ProMix - 4 cf Pro-Mix BXM
Air - 4 cf Perlite
Compost - 4 cf Coast of Maine Lobster Compost
Amendments
30lb Worm Castings
5-6lb Blood Meal
5-6lb Bone Meal
5-6lb Seabird Guano
3 cups Kelp Meal
2 cups Azomite
1 cup Dolomite Lime
I like Down to Earth and Espoma for my organic inputs. Something I would like to stress is make sure you source your inputs from clean sources. If you grow via seed only and use reliable clean sources of inputs you should have minimal pest issues.
Mixing can be a chore I use 2 55g HDX totes. I tend to use it immediately and have no issues doing so. I would steer clear of using this for seedlings due to possible wilt from all that bioactivity. For that I just use the ProMix BXM. The mix can be used for multiple runs and you will have to re-amend after the third run assuming you have dodged pests along the way. Second run comes out the best. Not sure if the rubber lobster claw bands are organic I just pick those out.
I think of the soil as a gas tank:
1g can go 6-8 weeks without issues
5g min to flower out without issues
if you transplant to 7g and veg for a week or 2 more and flip that leads to some great senescence at the end.
This recipe sets my constant with just adding water so I can let the plants speak to me. Let me know if you have any questions happy to answer.

I’m rootin for the one dead center, and the one rear center. Although they are all fems, I feel those two will be special. Maybe, maybe not, but I do that with mine just as a fun little game to keep things interesting.
They all look great though!
@Illicitmango yes lets keep track for sure. Ok numbering is from front to back left to right P000151 - P000159. So looking down from the top, bottom left is P000151 and top right is P000159. I use a Powerapp that I created to track all the details from seeds to harvest to name database, etc.
So you got 155 and 158.

thank you for posting. looks like a solid recipe! i’ve only tried COM supersoil and have had better results with Build a soil 3.0. But next time I’m making my own so i’ll look into the COM compost.
And you should check out roots organic for seabird guano. It’s powdered a bit more than the down to earth version - seems to be more effective and even better for teas.
so that recipe fills 2 55 gallon totes?
Yup fills up each tote up to the top.

Transplanted this morning into 7g fabric pots. Took about 50 gallons of soil or 1 of my full totes. All plants looking fantastic. Cleaned up any leaves touching the soil and will let them get settled a few days before any further pruning.
I make sure to spread the bottom of the plant roots and “scratch” up the sides so the roots venture into the new soil.
Before:
Will flip to 12-12 in about a week.
That’s all for now!

Pollination of select females with some Rainbow Belts 2.0 males. We have 6 all show little branching but smell amazing. Hints of sweetness and candy.

We had 24 hour power outage earlier this week, humidity spikes to 99% but all worked out ok no issues as the moment. I will be keeping an eye out for the next week for issues related to that.
So we are lucky to have a hose connection off of our well water in the basement, water temp currently 66F. I use a watering wand to reach the plants in the back. They get water only every 2-3 days.
Rainbow Belts 2.0 males looking and smelling fantastic. They will be put into flower tomorrow.

12-12 as of today, first day of flower
When we started:
Trimmed off the lower 2-3 nodes for air flow and will prune again around day 14. Day 23-26 we will be pollinating with some Rainbow Belts 2.0 males. Since we only add water it allows for more time to focus on the plant.
