The Threat of Oxidation to Cannabis Compounds

I love oxidation:

Photosynthesis requires oxidation to happen, by the way. Without it, our plants would all die along with humanity. Lol. Oxidation is a loss of total electrons. It’s not inherently positive or negative(lol I mean, it’s net charge changes, but I’m talking as a whole and not specifically). It’s chemistry. Just because we don’t like rust doesn’t mean we don’t need ferments in our everyday lives.

I think he means “metabolic processes.”

Really, didvyou think about what you just said… when the plant is chopped photosynthesis is no longer a issue😃. Bro, what are you digging for? Whatever it is let me give you a heads up. You wont find it. The experts dropped the ball😉

Really? Now did you think about what you just said? We are drying buds…photosynthesis is not a issue😃 the plant is dead now. What are you digging for here? That was priceless👍

You’re probably right. He just kept repeating oxidation is bad, oxidation is bad and didn’t really show a clear understanding of what oxidation is, so I wasn’t quite sure what his claims were. His writing isn’t very clear or easy to read. It’s just weird to ask for sources or explanations and be met with such dickery. For what it’s worth, I have a tray dehydrator that goes down to 78 degrees. I don’t think the smoke is comparable to longer, lower airflow drying. It can dry stuff, I guess, but I can’t really think of a reason to use it when I don’t think the smoke is good. But, this has potential to be an okay topic so sorry for causing wedgies. I’m all for more data if you’ve got it!

This thread comes off as a giant marketing scheme in an attempt to sell goods. It should be merged with a thread the Sponsor has created within in their own tag?

All I’ve learned here is a new aggressive Sponsor has joined and should seriously consider hiring a public relations manager.

HerbsNOWdryer.com many FAQ and other info. Again this is not about my opinions or preferences. This is about data. If you do not like the way your FoodMaker drys your buds thats on you. My dryer was calabrated for cannabis not food. My dryer was built on data. Not opinions or preferencs from so called “experts” my dryer was not build around a method that fails like some other products. I have something even better than lab results. I now have a legion tens of thousands of growers who swear by this method. That my fellow grow is better than ANY lab results. When thousands of growers tell you…Scott, I been growing for 10,15,25 years and my buds NEVER smelled this great. I have two words for you… GAME OVER.

I knew someone would project some BS like that. Thank you:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap: Thank you for trying to piss all over some great info that will help growers. But no really if you want a great example of Gas lighting here these guys like to fear monger. This picture was deleted because that got called out. Have a great day.

Wait… you claim here is that after decades of growing, these supposed 'thousand" growers were unable to achieve success until your food dehydrator came along? That seems like a grandiose claim to make.

Funny how you plead for people to dig up that review but you gloss over the fact that the negatives outweigh the positive. The reviewer clearly says that your dehydrator will not work in dry condition. So unless you live in a damp humid environment, you will continue to do the things we have been, getting out environment dialed in. IF you happen to live in a humid environment than MAYBE your gadget will work but, to sway THOUSANDS of tenured growers into seasoned professions all because your dehydrator. NOPE!

Also, thank YOU for proving ME right in that you clearly don’t know how to interact with the public.

Did someone not explain to the sponsor that it doesn’t give them free reign to spew bad information all over the website>

I have an old ronco dryer here. I definitely wouldn’t try drying weed in it with it’s current element. But if I wanted to swapping in a new 80 degree element would not be to tough.

The problem would still be quantity. I doubt you can do a 1/4 lb in it so most plants would have to be done in multiple stages…and then, gasp…they would be oxidizing while waiting the drying line.
Or I could buy 3-4 units to get it done…yeah right, lol

I got that exact same dehydrator but I brought it to dry excess food. Its not a very clever way to dry your weed, honestly Ive tried.

Heres mine, as I say, I dont recommend using it to produce decent weed. However it does make a cracking bit of biltong or dried tomatoes but I dont even put rosemary or other herbs in it as it degrades the smell and taste.

I got the first Ronco dehydrator ever offered. Used Ron’s recipe for beef jerky.OMG was that good…scroll forward, the original is long gone but I have another one that I don’t really use for anything since I got my excaliburs.
I never dried or even considered drying weed in the ronco. What I am pointing out is that this “cutting edge” technology is just the ability to provide an 80 degree heat source. That’s the only basic difference between the Herbsnow and the ronco dryers. And I’m sure that heat source could be found at a better price if you really wanted to look. Hell, you could do it with the right light bulb even.
It’s 1980’s tech with a digital interface that has serious volume restrictions. No way I’m drying what took me 4 months to grow in one.

I would say weed dried in this is one step above drying on the radiator. This thing was ÂŁ20 on amazon but I see a fancy sticker a rebranded controller and that oh so useful USB port warrants a 200 dollar price tag. Where do I sign up?

I think using the wifes hair dryer on a low setting may produce a better quality weed than a dehydrator and it makes sense since youve probably used her hair tongs to make rosin anyway.

Imagine popping something from seed,Nurturing it ,Cultivating it,Taking the utmost care with it For 4 or more months cutting it and trimming it to protect as many tricomes as possible then Sticking it in one of these Easy Bake ovens to ruin as many terps as possible and God knows what else.Ive smoked weed that was dried in dehydrators in the late 90s.That weed always had a funny Cat pissy BO fear sweat smell to it and was always oddly damp and smoked wierd.

That’s correct:100: the so called “experts” the “wine makes” they dropped the ball. They made a method around opinions and preferences not data. I don’t interact with :clown_face::clown_face: You are just another one of those. Think about what you are saying. You are upset because I made a custom tool calabrated for cannabis. Showed the entrie community there is a better and safer way and you are in denile. Thats ok. People like yourself do not move forward you just stay stuck in your ways. But thats ok because people/trolls like you keep fanning the flames and more growers keep learning that the cannabis community DROPPED THE BALL BIG TIME.
