Though it is nice to be at this point

Been wanting to do some work on the Camaro. Today is the day…let’s see what kind of challenges I face with my lobster hand…

Putting a new chain in (mybdumb ass reused the old one when I built it…and it slaps)

And then putting a set of 4:10 gears in.

PS…wife’s car…lol

It would be nice to have someone to hand down your skills to man, someone with a good back and 2 good hands that works for weed… I know someone but my back is meh, lol. Now you are doing one handed timing chain replacement…sure you ain’t Chuck Norris? Seriously inspirational glad the cut healed anyway…a pleasure reading your posts.

that seems almost as bad as my 1968 tempest… GM 350 with a …wait for it…NYLON …timing chain!! that was a big project for me at the time. i was a high school student with a craftsmen tool set. Napa would rent you the puller.

Ya, mostly one handed. If the doc knew I was doing this, he would flip I am sure. But, I am right handed…so it’s not all bad.

Big thick pressing plates.
Bore 2 holes through the middle of each plate.
Put a heating probe in one hole and a temp sensing probe in the other on each plate.
Bunch of heat resistant glue and a controller.
Boom.
