Times are Tuff. Bag Seed Grow

there is a thread here about the tvf jack as feed if interested going forward with forward growing. @jetdro and few other ppl here put it together I have been doing it for the past year and it works… best of luck

Some of the new strains I’ve tried (since the bags come with “reliable” names now, or from dispensaries) have great flavor and smell, and pretty as I’ve ever seen it. But just not very potent or stands out in any way. kind of reminds me of beasters from the mid to late 2000s, just smells and looks nicer. MAC being the one that comes to mind. Others like slurricane actually have some effect behind it . Otherwise, I’ve been looking towards the classics, and what ever I can get ahold of though the generosityt try of the OG community.

I have heard of shady practices at dispensaries too, like putting all of the bud on a shaker frame to loosen the trichs and make kif or hash out of - extra revenue, kind of like stepping on coke. It reminds me of the time I bought some bud off of a guy on the street, and when I got it home I discovered it was a wad of bubble gum that was stuck on the end of a stem and rolled in shake and seeds.

Omg that’s horrible!

yeah it was pretty disgusting. It sure looked like a nice bud though lol

What!?! That tops em in my book. Its crazy the way people treat each other.
Well when I was a kid I put a pebble in my brother’s bubble gum. I feel terrible about it now. I did that for no reason, the guy that sold you gum needed money. I guess I’m the worst out of the two.
My brother was fine by the way. Im glad he didn’t brake a tooth. Smh.

Yeah the presentation runs are awesome. I’m about to stock up on supplies as soon as I can. I’ll check out the urban farmer. I had a bunch of stuff I just let my supplies run out. It won’t happen again.

For everyone watching at home… I want to take the time to express how stupid I was felt about this:

Thanks to @ReikoX pointing it out to me.
I’ve been running hydro for the past year. In my head I thought soil picked up where hydro left off 6.5. I can’t tell you why I thought this. But I’ve truly come to believe that most of my issues are ph related.

I’m going to have to replenish my nute supply here soon. I was wondering what everyone is using for hydro. I’m using General Hydroponics. Is there anything better I could be using? What about products like Great White?

Check this out. This is one of my cousin’s plants.

It’s continuing up into the next set.

Just a little update on the mini DWC

It cept getting brown build up on the roots. After I started giving the roots a little rinse to remove the bown slime I definitely began to see daily progress. Think a drop of bleach would help? I’ve heard of people using it. I thought it would kill all the positive microbes in the nutes. Its a 45oz blue bonnet margin.

I used to put a tad in my poaching water for beans.
To kill off pathogens.

Microbes are for soil, keep DWC sterile would be my advice. I like GH 3-part. Its cheap and effective. I did add Floralicious Plus when I was running ebb and flow.

Im sorry I used the wrong word. Are the nutes in hydroponics “alive”? I’ve heard chlorine out of the tap can kill your nutes. I understand its not the best for plants but in the case for nutrients. I’m just trying to understand.

Nope salt nutrients, like GH 3-part are not alive. Chlorine out of the tap won’t do shit to your microbes in soil either IMO. The concentration of chlorine is so low, nobody is using tap water to disinfect surfaces. A lot of people use pool shock to sterilize their resivoir. I’m sure a few drops of bleach won’t hurt a thing.

I missed that you were in Dwc. That being the case I would suggest not using the urban farmer products.the jack is good for that though.

The one that I’m having problems with is in soil. I will keep in mind of the Urban Farmer for my summer grows.

I just realized there is two different approaches to hydro being steril and beneficial bacteria.
People that run with beneficial bacteria is that them using organic nutrients. Or is there always beneficial bacteria in all hydroponics? I guess what I ment earlier when I said microbes, I really ment beneficial bacteria. I really appreciate you helping me understand.

All this is just my opinion, and we all know what they say about those…

In hydroponics, the fertilizer is in an ionic for that can be used directly by the plant. There is no need for beneficial bacteria and it can be run sterile.

In contrast, in soil the organic matter is broken down by microbes and the microbes convert it into an ionic form. In this situation you do need microbes and cannot run it sterile.

I very much appreciate your opinion.
Everything is already broke down in hydroponics so bacteria dont need to be beneficial. That makes alot more sense.
When you mix your GH do you use the recommended ratios?
Why do they tell you to use so much? My ppm out of the tap is around 147. If I were to use the exact amount they recommended the ppm shoot up to over 2000. So really I tend to use half of what’s recommended. Including the Cal-Mag bringing it to a little over 1000.

To be honest, I don’t really remember what I ran, plus it was an ebb and flow, which uses higher PPM. I belive I was at EC 1.3-1.8 range.
