Thanks… that was interesting reading…
Have a little booklet from the 70’s Comfrey & Chlorophyll that lays out
all kinds of healing properties. (got it on the FREE table outside thrift shop)
Sounds like the plant Big Fert wants keep underground… buy my water bottle nutes…
For those doing ferments - Comfrey doesn’t need it but breaks down quickly.
So what’s going on at the TInytuttles grow show? Pollen chucking is the name of the game! Guess we’ll see how my pollen catching efforts will pay off ! 1st time doing this so keeping the fingers crossed girls are probably a good 3 weeks into flower now so we’ll see ! Wish me luck guys/gals!
How long will it take to see if my efforts paid off 1-2 weeks perhaps?
that’s how long it will take to see the seeds actually forming, but often you can tell the next day by looking at the pistils - after pollination they turn from white to orange
@Muleskinner Sweet I thanks for the input I’v seen vids regarding this bag technique, I think I’ll leave them on for 3/4 days then remove them and take a peek!
This morning the clones get planted in there final pot! What’s in the mix? Rice hulls, peat, compost, bonemeal, kelp meal, wormcastings, Bokashi bran , homeade biochar(experiment) I guess a little ash as well!
Edit: oops forgot to mention malted barley and a few red wigglers to top it off!
So the biochar is experimental in 1/2 the pots I took well charred wood from the backyard fire pit and inoculated 1/2 gallon of char with my worm castings and aerated for 24hrs. Probably should of been longer but pretty sure the biology has a good start! I have two different strains I’m going to compare 2with biochar and 2 without!
Took a trunk diameter this morning and plugged it into a diameter formula pic is from earlier D= C/3.14 circumference was at 4.5 inches so Diameter is 1.43 inches! We’ll just call it 1.5" lol
K seems it might be a little late for this but maybe not, some of this seed will be up in the next two days or so. Little experiment here 4 clones here 1/2 will get the cover crop treatment and 1/2 will be the control( without). Then all mulched with straw to give the “reds” some extra protection and something to nibble on! It’s all about trying new things right?
That cover crop is vital to my success. I tried an alfalfa mix (for sprouting and eating) and no cover crop and both were less than desirable harvests. Granted flowering in the summer is also part of the issue.
A little update on the garden! Giving the soil a boost with some comfrey/ molasses tea ! Things are looking good having to do a small amount out IMP to keep aphids In check other than that plants are rocking out!
