I do that when I LST basil plants. It’s better to not cut anything off if you don’t have to.

Ooooh. Did you give me this recipe? Sounds very interesting. Why Rose petals? For their flavor or some other benefit? I’m sure you gave me the recipe and likely i asked the same question again lol. Was it a secret recipe?

I wonder about the rose too. The recipe I used called for rose water. Maybe one of those spices that enhance/make entourage effects like is done with majoun

Plants have hit full flower mode now and are budding fast. I decided to remove some unnecessary foliage. Anywhere one leaf lay diretly on another i removed one. I stuck with only secondary leaf removal. I’ll happily trade a little yield in order for me to continue looking at these gorgeous fan leaves. I swear the flowers bulked up overnight after leaf removal, but perhaps its just that the buds are now more visible. I hadn’t realized how much they grew.
The smell of Miss Pistachio has put her at top slot for now. Still Pistachio smells but mixed with oranges and berries too now. Very very strong smell. I’ve been eating the leaves and the taste is smooth. No bitterness at all. I even taste the Pistachio and fruit.
Miss big leaves is starting to smell now too. Its a familiar smell that i have in my own Afghan line. Revolves around a hashy base smell but there is more going on. Maybe i can pinpoint the smell today.

Pics of males coming soon. They have been in a window and have seen one small watering since i put them there weeks ago. Tough plants.

Thanks. I’m having fun growing these. Definitely a change in pace. I’m not used to buds forming in a couple weeks lol. Been in solid Sativa land four years now. I should have known I’d have love in my heart for landrace Indicas. Landrace anything and I’m a happy camper.
I’m really trying to describe the smells. Not easy to do because they are complex.
new pics coming today.

I know what mean my friend. We used to just grow pure or near pure afganica/indica and when we started growing our first pure sativa in 2006 it was from a mixed container of seeds that my FIL gave us. He got them from his time spent with a Hippie commune, these where sourced from the Hippie Trail.
I sure wish I could figure out where it originated. She seemed to take forever to start and finish flowering, 20 some weeks, once she started. Haha. I definitely had to develop more patience. My best guess is either a Thai or South Indian.

We have several landraces a few decent Sativa cultivars.trying to preserve as much as possible.

Next we’ll be starting our Tirah Valley Hindu Kush from RSC. I realize they are not all the same, but I hope ours grows nearby as well!

2nd pic down is Peshawar dominant sativa pheno.
Some leaves are a bit funky from the neem and bug crushing.
Resin should begin coming on soon.
