Tirah Valley, Pakistan Landrace grow

It’s like that here too. Snowy secondary roads nearly every day in the Winter. It’s not so bad if you have good snow tires, but I don’t suppose there’s normally a need for them down in Missouri. All seasons are probably just fine down there. I drive an all wheel drive vehicle with 4 studded snows. Its like a snowmobile in the snow. It has to be or I’d miss work all the time.
Any pictures for us? A snowy Ozarks scene must be beautiful.

This is Harry, the Hairy Woodpecker waiting for some suet. Kinda like a “where’s Waldo” photo.

Nice White Christmas for much of the country this year. Pretty.
This morning it was 50 degrees( very briefly)
Tomorrow morning it will be 45 below with the windchill. Uhhhh.

I looked up the Tirah valley climate and was quite surprised that it is Mediterranean. Thought it would be colder. I’m sure in the higher elevations it is.
Edit…climate discussion below. After punching in Tirah Valley Pakistan, Google gave me the weather for a town by the same name in Israel.

In Western NY I can run to Wegmans in a snow blizzard in shorts.
In Washington state, its a wet 35⁰ and im fucking miserable and layered up, and miserable because its too cold to trip on mushies.

Aberdeen WA was the rainiest place I have ever been literally 9-10 months of straight rain I felt like Forrest Gump , big ole fat rain , little stinging rain , and rain that seemed like it came from underneath… Lol

The damp off seedlings have now begun picking themselves back up. They are not the biggest plants out of the bunch but they are not the smallest either. I’d say they barely skipped a beat. Stems are white again and I will attempt to add a little more top soil soon, going extra heavy on the perlite this time.

I have more information about this Tirah selection. It was collected in Moosa Khel village, Tirah Valley. The amalgamation between the imported Kush strains and the local Sativa and Broadleaf kush strains took place long ago and now the genetics have stabilized. There is no or little continual hybridization happening, save what happens between one field of preferred phenos mixing with another field full of a different farmers favorite phenos. Kind of like if your crop of ibl sour diesel got nailed by pollen from another crop of ibl sour diesel a couple miles up the road.
Reading about the climate of the area is very confusing, with online sources saying that the climate is Mediterranean and that temperatures never even reach freezing nor rarely even the 30’s in Tirah at any time of year. Then on Instagram I’m seeing that they had snowfall by November 15th this year and that this is late.
@LandraceWarden Perhaps you could clear this up for me. I’m guessing everything has to do with elevation of The Valley floor? Is there more than one Valley in use for cultivation?

What can you tell us about the weather in the villages you have visited? Do they have snow every year for months out of the year? This was my understanding until going online the other day. Now I’m not sure.
Figured it out. I punched in " climate of Tirah Valley Pakistan" and google gives me the climate in Tirah, Israel, which i just noticed after looking again.

Kinda like getting the weather for Paris Texas instead of Paris France right? :joy::joy:

Seedlings are looking great! Yeah I’m wondering if elevation also plays a role here.

I’ve lived in that region (PNW) and the rain is unreal at times. On the other hand, the climate is one reason the wild areas are as awesome as they are.

In that part of the world, an area of 100 square kilometers could contain 2 or more different climate zones. The terrain is precipitous, to say the least.

Yes it is to say the least it took me 2 years to acclimatize myself to it (can get very depressing at times) but after that nothing to it to the point of now some times I miss it , and the whole experience really well like allowed me to grow , nothing stops/bothers me now rain sleet snow monsoons hurricanes gales lol police lol nothing! Lol oh and yes I’m a mushroom picking Rockhound it’s like heaven out there I’ve picked 3 foot tall king bolete ! Awesome  but the Ozarks are cool in there own right mushrooms galore just different kinds down south like Mississippi and new Orleans is kinda similar as far as abundance in mycology due to humidity but it’s not near as pretty as the great north west hands down

I’ve continued my reading about the Tribal Areas and the culture is fascinating. The Afridi Tribe is credited with bringing Cannabis to the region around 600 years ago and the families that cultivate take great pride in their finished product.
Perhaps someday I’ll be able to go and experience for myself their famous products😁, of which there are different grades. The hash is known by the name of Garda and the first grades of garda have legenday potency. All Hash is made using ancient dry sifting techniques so far as I know…but recently I read that ice water hash may have been invented in the area. Ever hear of this @LandraceWarden?

I would expect them to use ice hash for low grade mass production since you can do it closer to harvest then the traditional method.

Pz :v:t2:

That’s cool that you found that but how accurate do you think it is? is it their history or was it wrote by some English dude? And don’t take me wrong I’m not trying to I’m not trying to contridict you or argue nothing like that I would just be really surprised if the info we find on Google or Wikipedia is accurate it maybe close idk I don’t have much faith in “The Man” yeah know? Hopefully @LandraceWarden can let us know how accurate it all is? And I believe that @Upstate Did his due diligence, just there’s so much trickery today lol do I have trust issues? Lol
