The blizzard abused me! 2 different times I stepped out of a truck and my left foot barely touched the ground before sliding out from under me. Landed on my left elbow the first night and had an hour or so where I wondered if it was fractured, plus a new bump in it. Second time was the next day and I had enough time to instinctually put my left hand down. It broke my fall but the impact shot up my arm and had my elbow buzzing again for awhile.
I canāt believe I didnāt break it honestly. I canāt emphasis how quick I went down and from a height a few inches above where I would have standing. The second time it went from vibrating for a little to kind of numb twisty aching but nowhere near as bad as I would have thought (I kept plowing).
The plow truck was a stock height F250 but my personal tuck is lifted enough that I gotta drop to hit ground. Iām not going to lie, when I got home in it I had a moment of terror looking down at my driveway before carefully getting out I was like āso this is is how it endsā.
Today I am grateful for the love and help of others. Friends and family are hard for some of us to come by and i am thankful for each and every one of them, here with me or otherwise
Tonight Iām grateful that my son has the kind of boss who ācame in clutchā and pitched $200 towards a new set of winter boots, each, for both my son and one of his colleagues.
Such a blessing to come at such a time, and such an honourable gesture on behalf of the company my son works for and his boss.
