add it to the many reason why they “switch” sex -

I understand what you are saying. However, there have been many misconceptions regarding cannabis in just about every piece of literature I have read. I don’t just read about something and go “I won’t do that”, but instead “why not? What will happen?” So because of what I have experienced first hand, I do not believe in light leaks. Humidity gets so high in Michigan in the summer, I almost always leave my tents open. Many many times I have fallen asleep with them open, where light could shine into the tent. Nothing. Last week, I forgot that I took a plant out of a tent to water it, and passed out on the couch. That plant got an extra 4hrs of light, and did not herm that I’ve seen. As I mentioned before, I flower and chuck with light leaks. Seeing how almost every tent has light leaks, I think light leaks are a myth. If a plant herms because of a “pinhole” light leak in a tent, the genetics itself are garbage. Breeders should already be trying to desensitize their selections to the light leaks, as an effort to keep them from expressing intersex. So I look at “light leaks” as an excuse, and look for the real reason someones plant shows intersex. As someone before mentioned above, if a plant herms because of a light leak…I don’t want it. But…I bet all the intersex issues resulting from your seed offerings are caused by growers error. It almost always is.

Yeah I’m kinda with you on that. And it makes sense too. Outdoors they are never getting darkness like they would get inside a sealed tent.

I think herm’s are caused by a hormonal imbalance in the plant. Irregardless of stressors, tho I believe stress can definitely induce it more quickly.

I only keep or breed with plants that don’t herm regardless of stress. Nether of my keepers herm from two strains, and neither does my newest cross, not even late nanners. However in the same exact environment, water/nutes/all, I’ve had 3 other packs from 3 different breeders 100% herm in the last year alone. Talking balls on girls or hairs on boys at 3 weeks into flower, not just nanners. Meanwhile the keepers sitting right next to them are 100% solid.

So can it really be environmental, and not just inherently genetic in the plant? A hormone imbalance would explain why the seed plant may herm but the cuts don’t… Some type of build-up from seed is causing a lack of ethylene in the lower nodes? Or perhaps the quick switch to 12/12 from 18/6+ is causing the plant to grow faster than it can produce ethylene to reach all the bud sites, causing the lower nodes to produce balls instead of calyx’s? idk… but it keeps me up at night :joy:

My guy, mean you can beleive whatever you want, that doesn’t make it fact.

Scientist have studied this shit too if you dont beleive in the totality of a century of grower knowledge.
Even moonlight can affect plants on a genetic level.

Do your own homework. Beleive whatever you want. I roam in the land of facts personally.

Where have I said ever any intersex traits in my seeds are all grower error? I told everyone multiple times you got a chance to find herms.

Go rub your hard little pee pee on something else
Talkin about I bet, well you’d lose that bet so pay up homes.

Even if you breed with plants that don’t herm the genes are there. Purple just had that issue with his cookie cut free seed run for example. If you leave a population to reproduce outside and go feral it will inevitable revert to its monoecious roots.

I’m sorry if im not god folks.

Well I wasn’t attacking you or anything. Just trying to have an intelligent conversation. But just like all the other breeders, you choose to believe the research your had Zero part of documenting. A total of 70yrs worth. That’s cool, I stay in my own lane for a reason. I bust cannabis myths, and document new findings all the time.:joy: I was also trying to defend you, and somehow you took offense? That’s cool. Although, I do prefer to debate findings with people who are on a similar or higher intellectual level. And I’m not getting that vibe from you. Closed minded is small minded. Happy breeding!

You made a huge assumption when you said “I bet…” so you obviously haven’t read the year long thread on these seeds. How much was that bet for anyway?

Seems like a friendly thing to say lol.

I mean fuck a light cycle, do you dawg.

Like I said, I was defending you. Just keep hanging on my lowers, it makes you look great! The only reason I’m watching this forum is because I acquired some of your Bubblehead. But it seems like now you and everyone else is unsure about the offerings. I’ll prolly just sell this pack. And stick with the breeders I know, and whom i converse already.

FyI for all that don’t know since a lot haven’t read the year long grow thread this is essentially a super inbred Chem line.

You talk out of the side of your neck amigo.
The last sentence is a direct condescending accusation based on zero fact. “I bet…” ehhhh wrong. Pay up.

I’ll give you your herms back. Lol

Send a check for that bet too.

Sounds to me like you yourself are unsure about your own selection. Perhaps jumping on me is the perfect excuse to redirect this conversation. :joy:

Sorry, check is gone. I bought too many of your herms.:joy:

A Welch. Who woulda thought?

Well, what can I say? Checks are smaller when you have integrity.

Where is the example of my lack of integrity?

Well, I already scrapped two breeding projects because they didn’t pass testing. The last one I had 3 seedbanks that wanted my shit. One even wanted them before testing, saying he had extra vials and shit. But I, yes I had too much integrity. And it’s a good thing I did, or I would’ve been screwed big time.:joy: So it’s not that You don’t have integrity my friend. It’s that I believe I have a little bit more. That’s all. And I’m actually analyzing You in this conversation. I recognize your afflictions, and know that you are the type of person that cannot be swayed. Good in ways, bad in others. So don’t take it the wrong way, but I am kinda just amusing myself with your responses. In another world, we may have been friends.
