Thank You…

Every Year I set up my pool table with plywood and many hours of enjoyable work setting up for the next week of holiday bliss, turkey soup, turkey pot pie, turkey necks… :yum:

This is right up my alley!

Big fan of trains and railway infrastructure.

I have lots of other photos that I took around trains and railway infrastructure I can dig up. My city has a decommissioned turntable, which I will dig up and post. I know the thread is predominantly model trains, but I can certainly add some photos and experiences watching trains and exploring.

Really cool old gypsum line that has been decommissioned for years. This trackage and washout is right along the Minas Basin and the cliff is like 100 feet.

Another bridge along the same line.

I have a train line right in front of my house maybe 50-60 feet away. Luckily it’s only used by Amtrak and the occasional track maintenance machinery.

I thought I wouldn’t like it but it’s actually sort of nostalgic and the train only comes through twice a day, around 9:30 am and 5:30PM, and they only last about 10-15 seconds.

I was surprised when I first moved here, with the number of people who have and still come by and sit by the track waiting to get some train pictures.

The other thing is the train line is on the historic Santa Fe Trail (and my house) and it’s how the west was populated early in our country’s evolution. I dig it even more because of the history.
