CROSSES: PCK (during micro open pollination cycle)
I’ll be taking advantage of PCK’s open pollination to thrown in a few keeper cuts that I’ve in my collection.
This will be an half sib sort of mating, as I’ll only know with precision the female parents. The male side will be my small population of PCK males bulked pollen.
It will serve as a general test to see how PCK combines with my keepers. As this Chitral line is highly worked and fairly inbred, they tend to combine pretty well and throw quality phenotypes consistently.
Just having some fun while the preservation cycle is still ongoing, and I’m still assessing the qualities of PCK females. Later on if I can find worthy ones in this seedlot, those will also be reversed and combined with a select few and perhaps for some intermating and S1 work as well.
