I second scotland. My life goal is to move back up there. Buying one of the many ruins you see on your travels. I have lived and worked in both strathnaver (on the NC500) around 4 miles from king Charles hunting estate. Working dogs. And in dallas, Forres. Working water buffalo. I got lost on a pedal bike ride in a blizzard and ended up at cardhu distillery 
what a happy accident that was.

I’ve seen a few places around the £25k mark with a couple acres. Usually a stream or some kind of brook running by too. My day job has nearly always been property services. I’m capable of most jobs apart from gas works. And electrics (legally) the beauty of scotland is
They will actually give you a grant to erect deer fences. With labour factored in there. You can do the work and use the excess to continue building etc. They want people who will work the land. It’s basically the UKs answer to Alaska. The main difference is bears 
we don’t have them.
Honestly I’d be happy with an old barn and a couple acres I could stick a static caravan/mobile home on whilst I fixed the house up. Reckon its about as close to homesteading I’ll get this side of the pond.

I absolutely love living on boats too bro. In all honesty. If I found a property with a tiny loch. I’d stick a little sailboat on there and stock the water with good fishing 
see all kinds of mad stuff. On the Tyne had an otter on the boat. Seals on the pontoon. Sturgeon swimming by and the occasional turd floating. Was mint

Yeah I love them. Put them in the freezer for 30 minutes and they are perfect. 5 pints ish for 3.69 is for nothing. It makes the price of the half g that comes after the first 10 bottle’s less painful

I’ve been to Poland several times and I’d gladly go back. The exchange rate is pretty good now and you can easily access other countries depending on where you stay. One of my trips we took a road trip to Croatia (Plitvice lakes national park) and Montenegro, and camped in a few olive groves lining the Adriatic. From there we went on a white water raft trip on the Tara river and then took a trip to Sarajevo before driving back. This was all on a tight budget, but we saw so much.
