Veg & bloom on one plant continuously?

anyone ever see or hear of keeping a single plant in a perpetual grow, with the light & canopy/branches divided into 2 cabinets or tents?

(i’ve seen pics of streetlights keeping a branch of an outdoor plant in veg but that’s all.)

it would be an interesting setup, possibly lower maintenance?

I’m thinking maybe it would stress the plant out. When we change light schedules there is a shift in plant hormone that forces the plant to flower. I don’t know if the plants could decide/separate them and sent them to certain parts of a plant.

More about the food that is required veg vs flower. Taking cuts the day you flip a plant to keep a perpetual setup going will work a whole lot better.

I would worry about light leak, also when you flower sometimes internal switches get turned on that never get turned off again and this can affect strength and yield. Over time I would imagine it likely the plant would suffer reduced quality.

I guess I am in the ‘would stress the plant too much’ camp

Also, it sounds a ballache. You can get a mother and a couple of clones in a very small space using hardly any power.

An interesting experiment but not of much practical use IMO.

To answer the question though, I have not seen nor heard of this being done before.

I’ve only seen it done in Southern Cali outdoors.

i don’t think i understand what you’re suggesting …, do you mean re-veg half the plant while the other half is flowering?? because i dont think that will work
