It is the best teacher, and my mistake was moving them from solo cups, and not using a light, airy soil to begin with. My mistake, and I do humbly apologize for it. Thank you for sending me more.i will say this much, when I pulled the last one, it had every bit of a 2 inch root
Most seem to be mutants so far, very slow growing but going to hang in hopefully they bounce out of it
Awesome, how many KRH seedlings do you have going total? What is your plan with em?
Mine did that too, and it seemed where they came out of the soil at, they got soft and started to die there
I got 12 slightly immature (but still should sprout) fem KRH soaking right now. The plan is to hit these with their dad’s preserved fem pollen and make some backcross (BX1) KRH fem seeds. I will post em when they sprout.
Fems huh damn it jumped to soon lol. That will be cool man some fem krh that is backcrossed so genes should be stable right?
It could take a couple backcrosses to stabilize. I have three frozen vials of fem KRH pollen that I want to use up as quickly as possible while they’re viable. I figured why not use it in a backcross?
4 seedlings out of the 13 broke soil. Still hoping that i find a male and female to make some more seeds.
I hate to hear that. Curious to see what you come up with @ChinookKing
@ChinookKing. Thank you for the seeds and kind words of encouragement!
@ChinookKing Thank you for the opportunity to bring back some old school flavors!
Stepping back and punting a little. Been a bit since I’ve popped seeds, and giving myself a little practice by means of two bag seeds, and a red hair fem. Bag seeds popped out of soil today, and the Ky fem germinated in its shot glass pool last night and is now in soil. I got it this time
I’m popping some of the slightly less than mature looking fem KRH seeds. I like to pop a bunch of em together in one container and separate em later down the road. Not the most thrilling update but things are moving forward!
She is looking great. Nice job
Thank you! Seems like it doubles in size overnight.
Had to repot it today. Saw roots at the bottom of the cup
Samsies.
I grow in DWC hydro which is a lot of fun. I’d be privileged to grow some of you’d like to see some in buckets.
Also, a snip or two of Irene might be finding it’s way to my house. It would not be a shame if Irene met a Kentucky redhead. That’s a love story for the ages, and I’m a sucker for an Appalachian love story.
Keep in mind, it grows quick. The one I posted is a 15 day old seedling @AppalachianBiscuits
