I cant wait!

Well project has had an interesting start. I soaked 12 seeds in shot glasses in the dark; 1st 6 hours in a light H2O2 solution, than 16 hours in 60/40 coconut water solution, than into 6.0 pH filtered water. Got all 12 seeds to germinate. Than moved em to solo cups. Only 6 outta 12 popped up throught the soil without issues. Had a few tails stop emerging and just brown up and die, had a couple have the shell stick to em like glue and the stem quickly rotted and those died, i peeled the shell off few to help em and those never got going.

So the six that remained pushed forward. And then it was mutation city.

I asked the guy who gave me the seeds if that is what he saw when he ran em last year and he said it was and he sent me this pic.

He also had runts that wouldnt grow bigger too.

Fast forward to today and i got 4 plant left. I pulled two of the smaller extreme mutants that had mutated leaves shriveling in the sun. They had to go. 3 of the 4 that remain look great. They are vigorous and strong. The 4th one looks very compactly unique and has a good aura so I let it carry on. I will post pics of the 4 remaining unsexed plants tomorrow.

Here are the remaining three bigger plants and the one smaller one. The all got a little leaf chopped by an animal last night, likely one of three neighborhood cats. Stem rubs are promising on all three bigger plants. One stands out as stronger and unique.

Not a perfect project by any means, but forward we go!

Those 4 remaining could help preserve this old strain. If you manage to do a seed run, I would like to trade for some, or give a donation to help

I will get ya set up man.

Im trying to piece together what is going on here. A lot of mutations and runts. Does that indicate this line has been inbred too much over the years or that it has never been worked at all?

bro, you just made me feel so much relief from my last run…had the same exact, word for word situation…but as we growers prevail…we always test our limits…and theirs…lolol thanks for that

Do you know the generation of them? Could be a strain that hasn’t been worked.

You have no clue how excited I am

I dont know what generation they are. My buddy doesnt have the info either.

All good. Was just curious

I got to admit I’m also excited about your KRH strain. That picture reminds me of old school killer bud from the 80’s.

Having read the thread, I’m certainly invested! Don’t mind the runts, keep the line going—two good parents and you’ll have thousands of seeds to play with (and share) :grinning:

I’d be willing to bet the runt is a female. Looks like a hybrid to me

Any updates @ChinookKing?

@ChinookKing this project sounds amazing can’t wait to follow along and see where it goes. I think both regs and fems would be killer. The bud looks identical to a old strain we called red sexy up here in New England.

An update. Been very busy sorry for long delay. 2 of 4 plants remain. The runt plant got completely overrun by aphids in a span of 3 days like it was a bug magnet. It was completely covered in bugs, and was yellowing due to the damage so I culled it. Bugs didnt touch the other 3. Weird. Maybe universe telling me something. The 3rd tallest plant turned out to be a male. It developed full pollen sacks quicker than any other strain ive ever dealt with. It was seriously insane. Happened in like two days. I culled it because I would never breed a male that raced to develop pollen sacs that quick so why start now. I can hear some gasps…

The 2 most vigorous plants turned out to be females.

One of em is decent/average but not a rock star.

The other one is a rock star. Had the strongest stem terps from the start and most vigorous from the start. Ive been spraying her with STS for a few weeks now. Ive also taking a cutting from her.

The cutting was taken during flowering so fingers crossed there. If it doesnt take i will reveg her.

I still have 11 of 23 seeds remaining. My buddy is shipping me out more. Im hoping the reversal happens and i can get some fem F1 and S1 seeds. I will also freeze some of the rock star fem pollen. Hopefully the cutting takes and I have at least one rock star mom. Im obviously confident the flowers will be great. I will then pop a bunch more seeds and get serious. Looking for more rock stars to bred in and make some amazing fem seeds for you all.

I realize this has turned into me working the line moreso than preservation. I cannot help myself. If some one wants to not cull the trash plants and do an open pollination let me know and i will ship u some of these seeds to do that.

Sidenote; the male developing those pollen sac clusters in like 2 days was crazy. Never seen anything like it. Makes me think this might be a very primitive unique strain. Stay tuned! Will try and update more frequently.
