I came back to small-town in Missouri to straight out moms affairs as she is no.longer capable. Brother and I met at bank then promptly headed to the accountant as taxes were due and gonna be hitting us hard as we move her assets around and pay for her care
Had a flat went to Don’s ture shop.and saw Don whom I hadn’t seen in 10 years and he recommended and we got started
Found out three tires were bad
So we are waiting for three tires from the warehouse.
The guy in front of me looked familiar and it was an bandmate from.long ago. I looked him over and he looked at me …I said you still playing a stratocaster?
Turns out he is…still.playing out with a band at the Sr citizens center…lol
That is cool as shit, I love when I have hooked up with old band mates and people I used to play with to find out they still played 30 or 40 years later in there lives you were lucky
I have been playing for 47 years now!
Can’t say as I recognize anyone when I go back “home”. When my wife and I left 20 ish years ago there were about 38,000 people there. We went back for the first time about 10 years ago now, and not only are there now about 138,000 people, every little town around has been annexed, what was once 4 distinct cities, have now grown into an almost 500,000 person metropolitan nightmare. I tried to go to my grandmother’s house, ha! They rearranged the streets around her and made her cul-de-sac a whole 1 block long. Y’all I could find my grandma’s house blindfolded in 98. I HAD TO CALL MY DAD TO FIND HER PLACE!! She lived there for 30+years and they go fucking up the way to grandma’s house.
I’m glad your return was a better experience despite the reason for it.
This part of the ozArks is a haven for big ranchers who are buying up any land they can find as it is still undeveloped. Our town is still 12000 as it was 10 years ago
I left for 2 years and that’s not nearly as long but enough that I barely recognized it.
Love this. Always nice coming back home after a long hiatus to see things that take you back and friends you missed etc. something about nostalgia, we always seek it whether consciously or subconsciously. It’s always good to come home………
Go back to bed . Haaa.
That was funny
Things change too much . I don’t even think I would recognize Springfield . Kansas City Missouri Can you still see the baseball field from the road . What is that interstate 80 I can’t remember . I know when they had that bridge fall back in 08 or something like that it was crazy
Yea I was in Springfield today. Glenstone and sunshine are pretty.much like they were. The chinese chickn place we used to always go.to in the 70s is still on sunshine…lots of late night munchies back in the day.
One night I spent at a friend’s apartment on Jefferson I had a final the next day at SMSU…so I crashed while everyone else ate shrooms
I woke up to find the contents of the apartment…and walls.and furniture and windows all.covered in aluminum foil. I have no idea where they got so.much aluminum foil…lol
