they sold those as a toy for children years ago I have grown basil in them they will definetely work for you grow on brother

Yeah, They’re called Orbeez or something like that I’ve been using them in my little veg box and they are working great

I have also used them like Boveda packs for keeping cigars and yes other stuff hydrated. Put some beads or balls😃 in a cloth pouch inside an ammunition box with what ever you need and they work for quite a while.
