What are you watching? (TV & Movies)

I watched a really graphic Western yesterday. Bone Tomahawk. Kurt Russell as a sheriff trying to retrieve a local woman from a tribe of cannibalistic Indians. Pretty bloody.

Couple weeks ago I watched one I wish I had never seen. It is a French movie called Irreversible.
Thought it was a well done movie with a cool twist that they showed the entire thing in reverse chronological order. But the content was truly horrible. Heads getting smashed. Brutal rape scene. I will never watch that one again. That’s for sure.

No it’s from a show. I was just seeing if anyone caught it.

That movie was awesome!

I was hooked on the very first scene with Captain Spaulding.

OMG THIS FILM IS BRILLIANT AND I WILL NEVER WATCH IT AGAIN!

It’s the only film involving rape where by the end of it the audience feels raped and haunted by what they saw… The majority of the film is you yelling for them NOT TO DO THINGS… because you know the outcome and its “irreversible”.

Another great Frenchie horror:

I am a HUGE fan of horror. Always have been.
I tend to search for Obscure films. Independent films. Foreign films.
Another in that French horror genre that’s really well done is called Inside. You won’t forget that one.
I like films that hang with you for a while.
Anti-Christ is another one time view that is pretty cool if you like arthouse type stuff

OMG YOU MUST WATCH THESE THEN @BigMike55 !!!

Both are in the “cosmic horror” genre which often pulls from HP Lovecraft. Another cosmic horror that was great in a different way:

And another CAGETASTIC horror/comedy:

Is that Roald from Letterkenny in the Void trailer?

Most likely! The film was shot in a high-school in sioux saint marie!

The filmmaking duo are industry filmmakers working on The Boys, Shape of Water and a shit load of other Ontario based productions… this is what happens when they do what they want their own way.

The are also art department (shape of water), so the practical effects are fucking top notch!

Andy Warhol documentary on Netflix is wonderful. It’s a deep dive into his diary, personal relationships, struggles with being a Catholic homosexual during the AIDS epidemic, struggles with his insecurities about his appearance, aging, fears of death and decay, etc etc. The diary entries are brought to life by an AI rendering of his voice as well as interviews with the twin brothers of two of his long term romantic relationships. This is of course all presented in parallel with his art which gives a lot more weight to some of the chosen images and logos he would incorporate into his work.

At the recommendation of folks in this thread, my wife & I are working through The Bear. I keep feeling shades of Lip’s story line from Shameless, so I wonder if maybe the main guy is a bit typecast in this role.

I ended up finishing and was glad I did.

I watched the whole season and I honestly couldn’t tell you why. Not sure if I will watch the second but I have no desire to.

I’m watching Paranormal Quest on YouTube and enjoying a nice relaxing evening! Have a great night everyone! Toke on :call_me_hand:t2:
