What brand of nutrients?

Does anyone use black strap molasses, good for the microbes in the soil I’ve read?

I have used molasses with no ill-effects.

It contains minerals and won’t kill your plants but no idea if it’s good for long term soil health.

Thanks. Looking for answers has led me to more questions. Any opinions on the “double knits”? (Off topic Zappa reference from “Just another band from LA”). I am one of those sicker than others.

I had been using my GH feed with M3 soil with no ill effect/burn/pH issues. I never found M3 and filtered or pond water to get the job down how I like on their own. I used it in Living Soil pots and the plants turned out fine, but it caused some issues with the cover crop and I do declared I killed all of the worms in the container (I was just trying it out, I’m not a knowledgeable living soil grower).

I started using Grow - More / Sea Grow Formula made from Kelp and other salts ? 16 - 16 - 16 to start this is what some of the big grows were using . They have a lot of formulas to play with and I have had good grows with this company the Mendocino Line is geared towards Weed .

I’ve been using megacrop v2 for a couple years now because I have a giant bag of it lol. It’s great for veg I don’t love it for flowering, lately I’ve been giving it until like week 5 of flower then switching to canna Flores.

I mix mega at 1.25 grams per liter with .5g/l Epsom salts and .5ml/l of calimagic. I get the odd calcium deficiency in veg but that’s about it.

Before this I’ve tried so many nutrients and the best results I’ve had were always with a simple AB two part like DNF, nutri+ or something similar. You can get really great results if you supplement one of those with something like liquid karma or any of those organic boltons that give you all the extra goodness.

When my giant sack runs out I’ll definitely be going back to something like that.

Are you moving to 1/3/3 when you flip to flower? How long are you running that ratio before dropping the P and bumping the Potassium?

I remember back on OG1, people were literally telling me miracle grow will kill my plants :joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy:. And this is after using it for years, before I ever found overgrow :joy::rofl:. It had actually turned me off of OG for a while. But then I realized, do not let morons get to you…hahaha

In more detail

1/3/3 w3-w8 after flip , when main stretch is over and buds starting to form w3 … Till calx start to fatten /swell w8 , all strain and pheno dependant ) then drop the p ( 1/2/6 or similar and also drop ppm / ec too for w8 till finish

1/1/1 type ( 30/30/30 or 15/15/15 or 9/11/10 kind off , balanced feed , for long veg , mums ( switching to 2/1/1 type for stretch after flip )

2/1/1 type for short veg 1w ish and stretch

1/3/3 type w3-w8

1/2/6 type w8 till finish also lowering ec /ppm

This is a good base to work from , then you can tweek further to push harder over time ie dropping n further and pushing pk higher , in w3-w8

No need to buy canabis specifics nutes ( just paying for marketing and hype ) it’s all about the ratios not the price tag : )

Can chat on pm if you like more detail : )

Hope this helps : )

I use the Molasas in my aerated compost tea I usually apply two to four times a grow.

Hi Jasper thats the kind of application I’ve read about, feeding the microbes in the soil and not the plant directly.

For my RDWC system and DWC buckets I use Crop salt dry nutrients. Outdoors I start with a local blend then throughout the grow amend with sprouted teas, coconut water.

For sweet and floral, go fox farms main 3, plus the open sesame, beasty bloomz and cha-ching, distinctly increases floral notes. For skunky use either roots organic, soul synthetics or general organics. At least IME.

I’ve used molasses and mycco innoculants galore for years. Most brands give out samples if you email and ask nicely. Try soil balance pro. They send you a 10 gram sample, I got 12 plants from it. I’d put it side by side with mammoth P.

My second grow I used molasses on all but 2 plants (all plants fed Dr Earth Flower Girl 4-9-6 IIRC).
Subjectively I’d say that the Molasses watered plants had more scent - 1st time I actually caugh t strawberry in my Strawberry Kush. I’d also like to say they had a bit more frost - but I think I’d be stretching it a bit (maybe a little…)

Currently trying the GH Flora trio + molasses — following the directions on the bottle; molasses is at 1Tbsp / gal. (twice as much). No problems - a few more weeks and I’ll have more to judge by.
Right now the Strawberry Kush has a straight forward KUSH smell - I like it.
My OG Kush however has transformed into a perfume bomb — I brushed a bud and some ended up on my hand - Strong notes of Lavender & Soap - it resembles a mens cologne more than weed right now.
Curing is where I’ll find out if the changes were worth it.

Thats pretty much the same as I’ve found, the molasses deepens the floral notes, I’m growing C.Banana and Somango xxl at the moment and any leaves trimmed off have the fruity smell.
Molasses contains potassium so tricome development should be enhanced, if only slightly. I use it most during flushing for the added K.

I’d love some of that c., its one of the main strains that went into freakshow.

(C. x big sur holy) x pineapple express, then self crossed and line bred repeatedly.

Hey, I’m using that sample for my hydro experiments! 3/4 of my hempie plants with it are triple the size of organic soil… and its super easy. I almost want to order another.
