What do overgrowers pack? šŸ”«

luckily I donā€™t reload a whole lot and mostly just for my hunting calibers so I figure I am well stocked for the forseeable future. Got a few good deals on projectiles in trades and through a local retailer before prices went nuts. I cleaned him out of Nosler partition and accubond bullets , got him to order me 200 .338 federal brass, 200 7mm rem mag and 1000 .308 and I save all my reloadable shell casings as well. I also bought a box of 5000 nice clean, primed 7.62 nato brass all portugese stamped and no corrosion so should be good to go. The guy pulled the bullets himself he said LOL musta taken a while but I got the box for 100 canuckistani dollars so I figure i made out like a bandit. Havenā€™t bought bullets to fill those casings but am looking at picking up some bulk Prvi Partizan .308 174gr fmj because I used to shoot those a lot in the M14 clones with excellent results.

You re my king @ReikoX

Manā€¦the Canadian system isā€¦wellā€¦itā€™s not great. Theyā€™re quick to take your money, but will leave your form on someoneā€™s desk for months. Been waiting since Mayā€¦which isnā€™t all that longā€¦ but would expect some sort of activity.

Those are cool, and the .22 Magnum is an underrated round. Iā€™ve heard those Kel-Tecs have had some issues, though.

The three weapons I will always have are my AR (MILSPEC M-4 clone), shotgun (Winchester 1300 Defender) and sidearm (Glock 21). If someone could have only one firearm, it should be a shotgun. Anything a pistol can do, a shotgun can do about 10 times better. You can hunt small game with birdshot, buckshot works really well for anti-personnel and slugs turn your shotgun into a high-powered rifle (2000-3000 foot-pounds of energy, about as much energy as a medium bore rifle) that will drop basically anything on the planet at 100 meters or less.

Iā€™ve never had any with mine shot over 1K rounds with it so farā€¦and yes .22 mags are way underratedā€¦btw itā€™s their other guns that have issuesā€¦

Good deal. I bet that PMR-30 is one hell of a nice backup weapon. While some prefer quality over quantity, a quantity that high is a quality, in an of itself.

Any thoughts on this rifle?

Good rifle, but expensive. You can get a quality AR for about 1/3 that price. .223 Wylde is sort of a gimmick. A rifle chambered in 5.56 will fire .223 just fine (never fire 5.56 from a rifle specifically chambered for .223, though). The .223 Wylde was designed to fire 5.56 more accurately. However, the truth is most shooters wonā€™t know the difference. The rifle may have sub-MOA accuracy, but most shooters donā€™t. The absolute worst case scenario would be that you have to hit a human torso at 300 meters, with the majority of shots being taken from 100 meters or less.
Iā€™d recommend you find something less expensive (but equally effective) and train a lot.

Do you have any recomendations?
I want a quality rifle and price is not really an issue but I donā€™t wanna pay for shit I donā€™t need or will never notice or use.

I think I will have issues with placement and length of the safety.
A 45 degree safety would be good.
But beyond that most rifles would do.

I am just learning about the gas systems ect so there is more research needed with that system.
From what I have learned adjusting the gas block will help with percieved recoil.
I think I understand the concept pretty well.
I used to build custom professional paintball guns in my younger days.
Paintball is an awesome sport.

Anyway
I donā€™t think I need a 10,000 round barrel but I would like a long lasting barrel.
As far as accuracy goes it is important but I will never be sniper accurate so going all out for sub-MOA would probably be a waste.

But I am all for getting something I will grow into as that is my intent.
I have researched almost every brand available, so I have done my homework.
But I have never shot any of them so there is that.

I forget where, but they had fully auto rental day, now that would be fun, but bring some doughā€¦LOL
Oh yeaā€¦I wonder if they do carry-out.

I seem to be stuck on something over 1500, I like the 5k shit too but even if I had that kinda cash, I have to ask why.
Now my paintball guns were all like 3K plus accessories and barrels ect.
I am selling a few of those to get the cash for a rifle.
So far I like the Knights, LWRC, Daniel Defence, Blackout and I think a few others too.

If I was able to shoot one, I think I might be good with something like a BCM even.
I feel I can tune the gas system to shoot soft without mech. issues eventually but I would like something tuned a bit out of the box.

For example Daniel Defence is known for being over gassed out of the box but they want reliability with cheap ammo so I think they have the gas pressure a bit high.

Anyone here play around with the Mossberg Maverick 88 cruiser? Been wanting a shorter barrel pump action and they finally got em in stock locally again. Had my 2nd attempted break in at the house last night and Iā€™m done meeting people at the door with the sledgehammerā€¦

Nice gun there buddy.
I do like me some Mossberg but I am stuck on this for home defence.
It is one of the few remingtons I would own.
This gun is expensive but the gas system allows it to run on light loads and keeps recoil down.
This is another gun I hope to buy, I have been looking at them for 3-4 years now.
That is too much money for a shotgun but the copies donā€™t really compare from what I know anyway.

Palmetto State Armory makes good ARs, especially for the price. The truth is any of the major brands (S & W, Ruger, Colt, etc.) are good quality. I recommend you keep it simple at first. Donā€™t accessorize too much until youā€™ve gotten proficient with iron sights. Your best bet is a MILSPEC AR. Its the most common rifle in the States, meaning parts, ammo and accessories will be much more available.

Thank you very much for your response. :star_struck:
That is good advice, you never know what the future holds.

I have heard this myself, thanks again!

I actually have a PSA, and zero complaints. A friend of mine has a PSA in .300 Blackout. If you get a .300 Blackout, make sure you get lots of ammo with it. Donā€™t count on it always being available. Other than that itā€™s an excellent caliber.

If you go PSA stick with their Sabre line . Canā€™t go wrong with a Colt LE if your just wanting an M4 . Ditto on sticking with 5.56 Nato chamber , unless youā€™re wanting a match rifle or a varmit gun . Personally if my life is gonna be on the line I want the best equipment I can get my mitts on . The Mossy 590A1 is more robust & dependable than the Mav 88 . It cost more but is a superior weapon . Hell its stout enough to buttstroke with & has a bayonet lug , you wanna get serious .

@shag nice rifle you linked, BUT, before you go dumping a whole lot of cash, letā€™s talk.

This here is a Beast of an AR, BUILT not Bought.
24ā€ Bull Barrel, adjustable gas block, rifle length gas tube, free float hand guard, H3 buffer, Mag pull pistol grip, fixed buttstock with adjustable length and cheek weld, custom muzzle break, Nikon optics, sheā€™s a 600 meter tack driver, and Iā€™m all in for around $1,700. Plus the bonus being as itā€™s built, not bought, no serial #ā€™s, no background checks, no waiting, all because Iā€™m a good citizen and can purchase firearms, which the ATF says I can build my own if I can also buy them.
This is the most expensive of my ARā€™s that Iā€™ve built, all my others have been around the $750-$850 range, this is my reach out and touch you AR, Iā€™ve got everything covered from long range, mid range, and close quarters depending on the situation at hand.

Very, very nice. I got to squeeze off a few rounds with an M-110.

Little out of my price range but it is on my radar now. I ended up grabbing something similar. I actually managed to find a Remington 870 Tac-14 in store right by my house.
