What he said. Commercial effect on breeding

Like I said, a shit show.

Ok, I am agreeing with you. I bought a bunch of Bohdi packs of 88g13hp crosses. I’ve grown a large number of them and they all have been mid and looked like the male 88g13hp. Five different moms and they all look like dad. I’ve got ten more packs of these fucking mid crosses. What do I do with them? I fell for the marketing, it’s true.If he would have grown them out he would have known. The seeds I’ve bought from companies people hate like RAW Genetics have actually kicked out a couple keepers. So, your point is excellent. Buying good genes isn’t as easy as it seems. BTW, the best seeds I have gotten with the biggest number of huge killer plants has been chucks shared with me from other growers, lol.

lol. Big Lol. Been there, done that, with my father in law in the hills of western NC. Nothing spells party like beer, firearms, and dogs.. Also, down where we hunted, moonshine is about as plentiful as water, in fact, right down the road from the Petty’s and the birth of stock car racing.

I’m in da same boat as you, fell for the forum hype, I actually thought for a sec people that recommend and review strains have any idea what they are talking about but they are all hype fans who don’t have a clue on what weed is and what it should be, pathetic.
These people just can’t wait to get the next mids freebie from those unprofessional pollen chuckers
Here, buy this strain for 300$ but don’t worry I’ll add 100 hemp seeds so you won’t feel like a rhino fucked you from behind :rofl::rofl:

I agree with you, the best seed I had in the last 3 years came from a bag of some nice nothing fancy outdoor bud, bought a pound of it, I got like 30 seeds, 25 were males, 5 were fem
The best outta that 5 was a bit hermi but the smoke was phenomenal potency wise
Stupid me I didn’t clone it.

Yeah gotta find out what weed the reviewer has smoked before in order to have any idea if their review is worth anything or not.

If they only smoke cookies or they’re under ~30 years old, review probably gonna be worthless :joy:

Why are you here?

On a positive note, many, many breeders ARE doing it right, and producing phenomenal genetics, and preserving lines. As for hobby breeding, I’ve never bred a mid in my life, even by accident, because in my world, mids haven’t existed for thirty years. Crossing an Apollo 11 to a Northern lights, or Super Silver Haze to White Widow is going to give you some badass weed. Period. But I always considered “mids” to be more how it was grown than its genetics. The bar keeps moving on what’s considered great weed. Heck, remember when sinsemilla arrived? No seeds! We were, like, Is this a great country, or what?!

There are just too many good breeders out there to mess with amateurs. Some have been here for decades, Sensi, Mr Nice, Grimm, etc. That’s where today’s hot shots got their gear from in the first place, even if it was indirect. I’ve been running Fastbuds for awhile, and their work is phenomenal. But I’ve always gravitated towards the less well known boutique gear( which Fastbuds was, they grew like wildfire). I spent ten years growing almost nothing but Sannies Seeds strains, because of all the old school stuff he did.

Regarding females, I began growing when they were like garlic to vampires, we felt that was just lazy growing, AND, we all wanted to make our own seeds. I grow both, but females only for the convenience. There’s a place for both.

Legalization changed everything at light speed, some good, some bad. I try to focus on the good, and ignore what I can’t change. Diluting the gene pool is sure real, but that ship sailed fifty years ago. Kudos to those who’ve preserved landraces so the pool can be revived from time to time.

That’s funny because I’ve never felt more safe and optimistic about the future of home growing. I think the cats out the bag and its not going back in. They have let cannabis genetics spread so far and wide that they wouldn’t possibly be able to police us all now.

Omg, not to dis the younglings here, but I was just appalled by how little all the growers and bud tenders in Colorado knew. They never knew a time when you couldn’t just walk in and buy sliced bread, or Girl Scout Cookies, lol.

When I was a boy, we had to walk 20 miles, barefoot, in snow, uphill, both ways, just to buy a dime bag of stems and seeds.

Nah, mids has nothing to do with how you grow unless you completely fuck it up, and that’s what pics are for today, we can know if it was grown good enough or not.
99% is genetics, that’s it.
You are what you are because of your mom and dad, not because they gave you this water or Himalayan salt or sea salt
Or because you haven’t been in the sun too much or less, all of these are all very very small variables, not enough to change anything about your GENETICS.

Not your core genetics that is, color may change (like tanning in humans)
Smells can be a bit more or less
But the genetics determine 99% of what you’ll get.

Walk the talk as @Coda says, what are those amazing breeders you are talking about ?
Because Mr nice, sensi and the likes pump trash like never before
You sure your not stuck in a reality that was 20 years ago @Dieseldog381 ?

Than why spend so much time bashing breeders? I’ve grown beautiful crops and turned it into complete crap with bad after harvest handling.
Been growing for 30 years and am still learning, definitely have not seen it all.

When did I bash breeders? I think you might have confused me with another poster.

At least you take accountability, you can totally fuck your bud with after harvest, it’s not hard
But we are not talking about the human factor handling the product and accidentally ruining it, we are talking about actual good grows with good drying that the product is shit over and over and over
For how long will you blame the growers for your shady lazy chucking practices ?
Not only they rape good people who just wanna chill and maybe take their pain away, they go on to the extent of blaming high grade growers who been in the game before these pollen chuckers even knew what weed is
Shit is insane.

You are correct. My apologies
@DopeKiller is who I confused myself with

Right, genetics are everything. But dispensaries sell the exact same genetics as mids, or top shelf, same crop, same plants. It could be shake, bottom buds, too dry, too old, mids are mostly sold by growth, not genetics.

Bro if you fucked up your bud, blame yourself
This is a talk about lame genetics breeders pump and give no F about us growers and customers
I’ll bash every breeder I want, you don’t like it you can ignore me
They all deserve it.

They sell the name, not the elite cut.
You really think someone that hold the elite cuts will give them so freely for 20-30 bucks right ?
Hazy world

Every one of your posts is hateful, and contentious. Just leave the thread, please.

Let’s be front about this and put this on the table
Bodhi, CSI, Archive,
They all hold the elite cuts, supposedly
They have every tool to bring that elite cut to people in seed form
They don’t and will never do it.
They won’t cut the branch they are sitting on
Hell, Archive is burning people just for using seeds that came from seeds he sell haha that guy is bunkers
And he is not the only one, if OJD will hear you used just the name of his seeds or god forbid misplaced some memory, youve just entered into a world of trolling and pain
These breeders are ego zealots
They won’t share their elites with no one, why should they ?
If I can acquire those elites from seed packs, the road to bankruptcy for these breeders is very short.
Everyone will pollen chuck and sell the best bud worldwide, not good for business
So, we are fighting windmills, these breeders will never let you achieve the clones they hold, they have absolutely all the reasons not to.

I will take that into consideration my man, thanks !
