I picked up a hitch hiker on my road when I was 19 on a Saturday morning when I was home for the weekend from school. I’d seen him around people I knew but didn’t know him, he was prolly mid 30’s. Figured it wouldn’t hurt to give him a ride home. He ends up directing me to a place where crack was sold. I told him to get out of the car when I realized it was a crack house, the last memory I have of it is seeing him pull a pocket knife out and me crying.
I’ve tried and tried but can’t remember anything that happened after. My mom died out of the blue a couple weeks after. I figure the embarrassment of letting it happen to me, not telling anyone about it and then all the emotions of losing my mom repressed that memory right on down.
I saw the guy many years later and the ~10 minute ride to the crackhouse popped up, but I’ve never been able to remember what happened after he pulled the knife. Sometimes I have the thought that I’m dead and this is all some afterlife poppycock or that the Mayan 2012 shit was real as that was around the time I recalled the memory.
Alternatively, I’ve seen a grown man naked. That’s always pretty weird.
I have a traumatic experience, albeit different, that I don’t remember.
I was in a motorcycle accident and remember everything up to the point of impact but not the impact itself. First thing i remembered again was waking up on the ground 60’ away.
If you ask me it’s a defence mechanism because if I remembered it would be in my dreams forever.
I can see that. I reckon every once in a while that complicated lump of meat floating around in our head does us a favor. Instead of the usual saying shit like, “why not have another slice? mmm isn’t that good!” …for me at least.
I watched a buddy high side into an endo carrying too much speed into a curve. Pretty sure it knocked him out, but he was up and walking by the time I stopped my bike. He was asking what happened and while I was telling him how he went down he was asking why we were standing in the road, where were we, etc.
I had it all recorded from my bike’s POV and you can hear a bit of our conversation of the aftermath. He still doesn’t have any recallable memory of it. He can only remember stopping by my house and waking up at the hospital.
I’m guilty of defaulting to the skeptical mindset (ie think they’re making it up) when I hear stories of people not being able to remember traumatic stuff happening to them but can’t deny it definitely is a real thing. It certainly doesn’t require being knocked out or drugged up.
Yes this is my thinking here are well. I didn’t have a head injury of any sort.
As far as not being believed, well, I’m used to that. I’m a bit crazy and get into some strange situations because of it and often people think I’m making it up. I see them roll their eyes. They can believe what they wish.
I ate about 20 gel caps one night. There was a hurricane. I didn’t have any way to leave. So I got all fucked up. In my mind, I could move a Coca-Cola bottle from one into the room to the other. I’ll visually seen this with my own eyes. Another time on salvia! Oh man! For something that doesn’t last that long that was the most intense trip that I have ever done in my entire life. It actually pulled me by my body. I left this planet. And I was asked to stay not to leave. It was crazy. It was several very hard doses, and a water bong very fast. I just found out about the stuff that was like about 25 years ago. I still have some. It’s old. I grew at one time. The divine sage.
The craziest would have to be when I was in high school. I was at the Piggly Wiggly. I had eaten some mushrooms for the first time. I was actually having some crazy visuals. But it could’ve been from some of the other stuff that I was doing also. You have to be careful sometimes with embalming fluid on your weed. And then they would pour Coca-Cola on it and call it chocolate Thai. Put a candy bar in somebody’s gas tank. The first time I ever did Molly. I had forgotten about it. My stomach was torn up. I had to go in the bathroom. I was in the south in a big long brick bathroom. It just kept getting longer and longer. Another time I was under the martyr train tracks. Inside the boxes Trippin. The train was coming over. We were all trying to get out. It wasn’t going to hurt us. But the vibration and everyone trying to get out with flashlights or something like aliens. I just sat by close my eyes. I would eat mushrooms at one time. Did you stay awake. These are some of my stories. Another time I had some Beavis and Butthead. I had three hits. These were real hits. I went to a drag race. I have VIP passes to the pits. Right when they started cranking the cars up. Those top fuel dragsters. I started tripping like crazy. Didn’t know what was wrong with me and then I remembered. lol
I’ve had a few strange experiences in my life.
As a kid (7-10) my closet door would open at night, but only when I stared at it at night. It would happen if it was closed all the way or open just barely a crack. I could lay there an watch it slowly open. Some mornings it would be wide open. House wasn’t old slanted…only happened at night when I stared…to thia day nobody believes me.
Camped a few years ago in an area that has historical ufo activity. There was actually an encounter in the 50’s and the guy had radiation poisoning. Anyway, it was 2-3am or so and I was outside the tent getting some water. It was a clear night with tons of stars. Among the stars was a triangular shaped object with a light at each corner. I’ve seen star-link and different satellites. But it was definitely not any of those things. Hoping to get a gopro that can take a pic every 2 seconds over the whole night and get a 170° sky view all night…see if anything pops up.
In my 20’s I was temporarily staying at my brother’s place in an older, rougher part of the city. My feet hung off the couch when I slept. When I was laying down and looked toward my feet I had a view of the hallway that was dimly lit by the streetlight outside.
I got a sense that something wasn’t right and tried to move and couldn’t. Completely frozen, but able to breath and move my eyes. Down the hall I could see a huge black mass. I knew it was something because it completely blocked put the light coming from outside. It got to my feet and I tried screaming…nothing came out…I was fuckin scared shitless. I could feel it grab my ankles and really squeeeeeeeze…super tight. I thought I was gonna pass out. I remember the pressure relaxing and then gone…once I calmed myself I found I was able to move freely. I sat up all panicked and stuff, buy didn’t really know what to do…so turned a light on and cowered until sunrise. Wqs terrifying.
I had night terror on a regular basis all through my child hood.
They all were the same
I was in a desolate landscape covered with miles and miles of overlapping steel pipes the only feature was a small shack
I always knew this was the end of the world and it was somehow my fault.
Cultures around the world take of such things. old hag the mare same thing awake but not awake. Whole life has been a fear of sleep when i was a child it was Godzilla he was coming i would hide in a culvert he would gwt down and look into the pipe there i was making mouse noises frozen chased me rifgt into adulthood then one night i confronted him after a dream got up and tried to holler out the window at him nothing came out but he never came back but things got worse as now something else was coming in his stead a big black mass would be in the bedroom now and was for many years laying staring at the wife trying to tell her to run again just mouse sounds.
I was sitting on my veranda with my mum,
it was a stormy day , clouds swirling and lots of lightening ,
my son appeared in a nearby doorway ,
about a metre or so from where we were sitting ,
and as he did , a ball of light appeared between him and us ,
it just sat there suspended in air for a minute or so , maybe longer ,
then it disappeared , just as an enormous clap of thunder erupted overhead …
i was explaining this to a friend , as a few of us sat on the veranda a few years later ,
saying the conditions were almost exactly as they were this day ,
when we saw the ball of light ,
and as id said that , another ball appeared just above the ground a few metres from where we were sitting , again for only around a minute , before disappearing as a massive clap of thunder was heard overhead , i couldnt believe it had appeared just as id finished explaining about the first one we had seen , almost like id called it and it had come to my call …
anyhow on investigating it further i discovered it was ball lightning ,
a rare event that not too many people get to experience in their lives ,
and rarely ever twice ,
its so rare , they dont quite understand what it is , or why and that maybe it doesnt even exist,
but i can tell you it most certainly does …
That is so weird. I, too, have experienced ball lightning. Twice! The first time was a situation quite similar to yours. The second was, believe it or not, on an airplane. I was traveling to Hawaii with my family. It literally hovered a foot or so from the floor of the plane and slowly “crept” down the aisle before disappearing. Really weird.
