What is your favorite strain at the moment (growing & smoking)

Yes! I’ve found it to be a very uplifting high! I have the same anxiety issues with weed that you do. I was actually very surprised that the sativa doms worked best. It was counter-intuitive. I’m gonna mix in a few hazes next year in my grow and see how that works as well.

So we’re in a similar boat… as medical users confronted with something that is still effectively taboo for most societies. Science just has to catch up on a century of ignorance & misinformation. In the meantime, you & I & bazillionz of other people are trying to find out what works best for them, basically blindly, except for discussions like this. I went to a dispensary for a while & a young woman budtender was shocked that their RedDragon sativa was calming to me because it did the opposite for her. At this point in my experience, I’m not shocked at all. We’re talking about complex stuff, men & women have different physiology alone, & we both had different genes & lives. The only pattern emerged from that was that if it makes a lady paranoid & anxious, it’ll probably do the opposite for me. :mens: go figure.

while many people grow & hybridize plants searching tirelessly for the “better stuff”, it doesn’t come along very often. The high-CBD hybrids we enjoy today are a fairly modern phenomenon after decades(centuries?) of selecting for high THC/low CBD varieties. (see kevin jodrey on shaping fire podcast, youtube)

the challenges of plant breeding under a prohibition scheme are immense (as most of us here know) and large genetics trials are incomplete. My personal belief is that “blending” known strains/varieties with precision & targeted effects is a more quickly achievable strategy. I’ve used it to calibrate my meds when I have only had sub-par or unhelpful varieties/batches and it does have a significant “entourage” shift. It’s an experiment I suggest for anyone here; try combining precise mixes of strains & note their effects-- you may be surprised. :astonished:

That is where the magic lies, imo: THC & CBD are just fundamentals & the large # of other compounds & “ingredients” are really what do the special stuff. No education to prove it.

The dispensary variety that I ended up feeling best with with was their “Durban Poison” (which was definitely not DurbanP, I now know). I never got more info even after asking them for a proof of lab-testing & that whole legal weed thing is a mess. (Y’all know California has Cannabillionaires now, right?.. )

[sigh]

So the quest goes on. And Overgrow is winning. :trophy: :microscope: :herb:

Anyone have any suggestions on their favorite autoflowering strain for chronic pain/mood, that’s somewhat productive, not so much couch lock?

Deffo my Swashbuckler it’s amazing weed. Almost to the point that it may be on par with ESB but for different reasons.

I love ESB so that is not a flippant remark.

Edited to ad a pic of some Rifty

I have run a lot of Mephisto’s auto’s and my favourite and quite potent is ‘creme bubby’ and creme de la chem, though most of the Mephisto strains are/can be -big yielders and if buying some- buy through they’re own site- you’ll get lots more beans.!
Check out @Dabber68’s auto grows, he has massive yields with auto’s and all look excellent etc… im sure he’ll have an idea what you’re best with …
Good luck with your hunt.

I’m enjoying the Swahbuckler geno dubbed Rifty.

Killer stone OG fuel but with a delicate taste and smooth smoke. Knocks me on my arse. Great for my nerve pain and IBD.

Deffo my new keeper.

@cogitech I don’t think that’s necessary. By the by, this thread was supposed to be uplifting around the topic of what’s your current favorite strain… Not what makes you most anxious

I think if you can find a favorite for your needs, that’s really special. And take steps now to ensure you’re stocked up on seeds of that strain.

As people pump out more and more blends and new varieties of strain combos. Older strains can get hard to find as they fall out of popularity.

Yes, I realize that. Which is why I have twice now apologized and recommended the off topic stuff get moved. Carry on with your uplifting market research.

Yes she is special like my FDM ESB mum I have had for ten years now.

Both shall never leave my side. Both are great for meds. The ESB has all but cured his fibromyalgia so it is his baby. I have kept her lovely for the years and gifted her back to him several times.

She and now Rifty shall never leave.

I did plan to make a ESB backcross as I was off the boards for years and thought FDM and @Baudelaire had vanished.

Then found this place saw he was on here and that was a link for FDM :clinking_glasses::clinking_glasses::tropical_drink::tropical_drink::tropical_drink::seedling::seedling::seedling::seedling::gem::gem::gem:

I was prepared to dedicate years to make a seed version of my to bring it back. Then was like sweet that’s awesome you can still buy them and the Generals Daughter:astonished::astonished::astonished::astonished:

Love Baud’s contribution ESB has brought me so much happiness over the years.

Ranting again :rotating_light::rotating_light::rotating_light:

Haven’t come across that yet. And there’s so much excitement around crossing it with other potent stains.

Lately I haven’t been smoking at all, still growing for the wife, though.

My favorite to grow, and smoke, is Casey Jones and crosses. In Washington State.

Lol yeah. At this point with the outdoor harvest. It’s turned into a sharing philosophy for sure.
