I have a little 30 watt burple led light the kind with the three rods that are adjustable. I only “play” with plants in the winter. I grow my “crop” outside during summer.

I cobbled mine together with different horticultural lighting group quantum boards that were on sale. I built two lights with some of their older boards two boards each and a driver, i think they have like 244 diodes on each board. Then i put another light together with 4 boards powered by another driver. They do ok, but now id just shop for a deal on a well built light. Ill take some pictures and share tomorrow.

Ok, took some pictures of my janky ass homemade lights. I have three fixtures, two are pretty much the same, consisting of 2 v1 qb288 boards driven by an hlg 120h-c1050b, the other one is 4 V1 qb132s driven by a hlg 240h-c1750b. At first they were all dimmable but i removed a couple of the pots because of flickering(i suspect my crappy soldering is at fault). I made the frames out of frames, :joy: and bought some hangers online. They aren’t pretty but the work and were cheap at the time, like 4 years ago. Like i said, now id just look for a deal on a new (nice looking) light rather than mess with a build(wasn’t very hard though).

I am currently setting up a 5x5 with two tsw2000 lamps and a vs1500 lamp. My other lamps are two 600 watt hps in a 4x8. And a 200 watt led set up in a 3x3.
Occasionally running a 10x5 with a 1k hps in a xxxl hood.

bought two 100w led’s for a 2x4 to play around with… also just grabbed a 500w 3000k cmh for my 4x4. it will be replacing my 600w hps. kind of tired of needing a cooled hood, and the duct work always looked ugly to me… can’t wait to see how cmh performs for flowering.

I’ve been growing outdoors the last few years, but I’ve kept a 2 x 4 tent going for F2ing. I had a Mars Hydro bar light that stopped working eventually, and I replaced that with a MyGro Array 4. Decided I’d try keeping cuts over the winter so I set up a 20 year old 4 bulb T5 in a second 2 x 4 (the fact that it generates heat is something of a bonus).

So what is the general belief here about spectrum ? Has everyone gone to white light ? No more red-blue mix ?

Ive just gone back to blurple for early veg and then switch to full spectrum around week 4. I believe it keeps the internode spacing tighter in the early stages.

My new but old stock mars hydro 2 blurple light with both veg and bloom on, granted this plant is only 3 weeks into veg but so far internodal spacing is tight.
