Birds left me a gift

They usually leave a much nastier gift for me. :poop: :blue_car: :unamused:

That’s a Morning Glory. I think they’re relatives of sweet potato(ipomea)… :nerd:

There’s a CA native variety that’s pretty boring compared to the bird-gift.

Yeah, the purple ones are everywhere! I was surprised the flower was open, I took this photo in the afternoon. It has a couple more flowers forming too. I’m gonna let it grow until it dies or spring comes as it’s in the giant compost veggie patch.

No. I remember reading about the LSDlike properties some of them have, though, and think I saw them on my neighbors’ place as a kid.

There are only two solutions to those gifts: goats, or napalm.

Yes lots of perennial vines of that family have d-lysergic acid amide, aka ergine in their seeds. Missing the diethyl so not as pronounced of a high as LSD (diethylamide). Still can make one trip balls, although not as cleanly as LSD. Same stuff as in rye mold (ergot). I’m not a fan. LSD way better in every aspect.

What is it with rain that makes it so magical? Regular watering works, but it’s suddenly a super bloom with one day of rain! We’ve had a marvelous 2 days of it! When you are in a 5 year drought. Rain literally makes you dance!
