What size led for a 5x5?

I’d imagine the migro is the clear winner.

I have used the FC 8000 for several grows now. Can’t say which is more efficient but will highly recommend it.

Yea i want to go with the mars hydro bc for a few extra $ i can get 50 more watts and 2 years of more warranty

Tough decisions picking a light

Not really. The efficiency difference is pretty negligible and the extra 50 watts and warranty are great advantages. If you decide to go with the Mars light you can use the coupon code “Dawson”. It still works and will knock off an extra 3% for you.

Has anyone put the Migro to a longevity test yet? Migro is a great LED. @Foreigner @Jetdro is seeing great results.

I would get the HLG Tomahawk 650 Bar LED and call it a day. :sunglasses:

But that’s only 26 watts per square foot in the 5x5 he is wanting to light?

Multiple Migros.

I still support the FC 8000 simply because I have run it for a few grows now and had amazing results. That to me is much more relevant than the numbers all the sites report for their products. There are obviously many ways to light that space and I am not putting down any other brands, just recommending something I have and am currently running due to the results it has provided.

Nobody I can think of but it runs pretty cool so that’s probably a good sign.

5 x 5 is an awkward size for most led. Id go with a big gavita led and it should fill the space with light.

What makes a 5x5 an awkward space?

They make a 700 something watt one. That’s what’s I’d run in a 5x5

Led doesnt spread far past the quantum fixture itself. I have 600 480 and 330 quantum boards and like those in a 4 x 8, I run 3 either two 330 on the ends and a 600 or 480 in the middle. or two 480s and a 330 in the middle. They have various different configurations. most have the cree led and newer samsung leds. I rented a par meter and its even and STRONG. I have the gavita too and it barely fits in the tent so itd work well in a 5 x 5. I have 5x 5 too but ran hps in that.

also you gotta run the garden warm and use co2 to get the most out of led.

The FC 8000 fits very well in a 5x5. When centered there is only a few inches of space between the light and the walls. No spread issues there. I own a Quantum Par meter and it provides a pretty uniform canopy. I have also never run co2 nor do I have any plans to. Just don’t see the need. Also not a big fan of quantum boards. I much prefer my bar lights. That’s why my HLG 650 sit’s in a corner of my grow room leaning against the wall. I found my bar lights to be superior.

thats similar to the gavita I was referring to. The quantums are concentrated and powerful but dont spread in a 5x5 properly. Im going to the storage today I should grab my gavita but its so big its a pain to move.
