What's HomegrownVABudz up too?

You could always place a small disposable juice cup under each one and measure after it runs.

I thought about doing that before I put them in the plants, but I’ll keep messing with it. Seems pretty simple to me now

Can you set it up for any amount of time? You can get the max out of your plants doing short bursts multiple times per day. A guy I know that runs a commercial facility runs short bursts. By the end of flower he’s feeding 6 times per day. This will keep them always having peak nutrients. He’s basically running perlite with a tiny amount of peat. It works really good! Figured I’d throw that rod but of information out there.

I can set the run time by the second or minute, and I can set the frequency by hour or days, up to 30 days. I’m gonna be playing around with it some more. My initial fear was drowning them, and I feel like it worked out pretty well.

I might look into a multi feeding schedule at some point. I’m just getting my feet wet :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I can also run it manually whenever I press the power button.

Yeah the key is starting out with less small feedings when they’re young and not drinking much and then ramping it up once they take hold and get bigger. With more small feedings spread out you can keep them at the ideal moisture level. He uses 1 gallon pots all the way through. He basically starts to flower the clones right after they start growing vigorously. The plants finish at about 3-4’

On another note, I’m going to possibly check out another grow shop tomorrow. There was one about 30 minutes south of me that closed, but apparently another has opened in the same city. So imma go find it lol

Imma be real. I’m not buying anymore seeds. These things are too fuckin expensive to just up and die whenever they fuck they want, for whatever fuckin reason they want. Two more fell over, expecting them to die :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Are they growing really tall and falling over or are they dampening off where the stem shrivels up at the base? If they’re growing tall plant deeper and give more light. If dampening off re check your starting in a sterile media and keep the media wet only to the point when you squeeze it as hard as you can like 5 drops of water comes out.
My three year old decided to throw all my seedling pots yesterday and he got a pair of scissors out of the dish washer and cut a bunch down… so I know how you feel. It sucks to pay a bunch of money for seeds or only have a few of a certain strain and have something happen to them. I had a bunch of seeds due this year trying to start in my living soil. The bugs ate them… sterile media is key!

They get tall and top heavy I guess. I can’t adjust the lights, I can only lift the seedlings closer.

My lights are a 125w 6400k CFL and two 25w blurple LEDs cuz it’s all I got

I might have to use something other than these seed tray then.

Do you think I should just plant into the quart containers and only plant it like 3/4 or something and fill it in as needed?

I always try and use a 4” minimum pot for seedlings or solo cups are the cheapest. Just cut a whole in the bottom. I’d lift the seedlings up on something like 12” away. 125 watts is low so they can be really close I’d think.
And yes leave room for dirt if they get lanky. I do that sometimes. Good thinking!

They’re about 10 inches from the CFL, the CFL hangs a little bit lower than the blurples.

I’ll switch to trying bigger containers on the next run.

Question if you have an answer, I have a pouch of grow dots I wanna use at some point. If I mixed up a couple gallons of coco with the grow dots, it doesn’t burn the seedlings does it? I’ve never used them before.

I’m blind, when I looked at the tape measure from the front they were about 13", so I added another tray to lift them up a few inches.

The sugar belts came out to say hello @Ottafish

Awesome man! It seems like the SB has really good germination. The Nana Glue x SB seems to be about 90%

Yeah don’t fertilize the seedling til you get a few sets of leaves and then start at like 1/2. They can definitely burn if you give them the full amount. I’d just start with a little cal mag to start once you get your first 3 finger leaf.

Hmm sounds like the light just isn’t powerful enough. I’ve heard the Blurple light don’t have a very good spectrum. You might look on Craigslist for a cheap T5 for starting clones and seeds. You can pick those up for cheap. Well… out here you can because the market for weed has fallen out and everyone is selling their gear. It’s probably booming out there huh?

I don’t know many people, at least with extra equipment to get rid of :joy: and craigslist is kinda useless around here. There’s a flea market type thing at the hydro shop tomorrow, but I can’t make it.

I use those lights for my clones, and they work beautifully, I’m gonna try and see how close they need to be.

Feels more like imploding

I saw something at Walmart, I remember it was something t5, I’ll have to go check it out.

The new ones are LED if you can find those. They put out less heat? Check Amazon maybe.

Went to look for the hydro shop, went to the mall where I was told it’s at, not only is it not there anymore, you can’t even walk through the mall.

Uncle said he’d call and see where they moved to. I said who has a popup hydro shop man?:rofl:

Bro. Why was I just thinking about making a food truck style business that sold hydro shit. Or like an ice cream truck that rolls through the neighborhood playing “I got 5 on it” that sells little bags of nutes. Have people chasing you down the street like kids
