When you go without

When I did that I was hog farming… Alot easier to put up with that squealing and screaming hogs and piglets all day when you’re so stoned you don’t care lol

It’s sort of similar to me having to be stoned around an ex so I didn’t have to listen to her constant drivel.
I’d be like oh aye, right and just nod every once in a while

You too? That’s where this came from -

At least the dogs still love me.

I’ve stopped many times in my life. Only issue I have is that I can’t sleep. Usually lasts about 2 weeks

I thought you had a man friend?
Surely he helps you to sleep

Nsaids will destroy your kidneys, the docs dont tell you these drugs are short term use only. My Doc offered me opiates, when I told him I was stopping taking the Nsaids because my blood pressure went sky high, 275 over 190 but I turned him down, I said, I would rather suffer than use more pharmaceutical crap, so he said, well how do you feel about using cannabis, I said, funny you should say that, I was going to suggest it myself lol.

I come off the weed every 6 months, to gauge if my condition is getting worse, for a week or two, depending on how much the pain develops. Its surprising how much it helps with the little niggly pains that drive you crazy, when they all gang up on me, brings it all down several levels.

I will smoke when airbrushing, it helps my creative process, visualizing what the customer wants. If I am painting a portrait it helps me focus, and play spot the difference with the reference and my pic. When I was doing physical work then I would sometimes smoke at lunch, and afternoon break, but other types of stuff, that requires a clear head I didnt, I have done a lot of diverse work in my life, wife says I should right a book lol.

The damage done to my kidneys by long term Rx NSAID use is why my ankles will swell if I take them. Can’t tolerate tylenol or codeine (325 mg tylenol-3 in oxycocet) either. Screws with my tinitis bad. And my wife wonders why I swear up and down I have to be on death’s doorstep before I’ll see doctor.

Jack of many trades and master of none are you?

Funny timing here. Been having some health issues lately and stopped drinking a few weeks ago, something I haven’t done in probably 10 years. It doesn’t really bother me, but man life sure can be boring af without booze

Stopped weed about 2 weeks ago, for the first time in like 20 years. I gotta say its been no problem, I sleep fine and everything. The only change is, again, boredom, and the fact that I have like 8 crazy dreams every night.

I’m about to harvest alot of really dank looking weed, which is a bit of a piss off. I took samples of all 5 types a few days ago and have to rely on my gf to determine what they’re like. So far they’re all ‘good’ and taste like ‘good’…very useful observations :expressionless:

Funny how it’s so much easier to quit something when you’re motivated. Last time I remember giving up on booze it wasn’t something I wanted to do and it just about drove me nuts. Come to think of it, back then I still hadn’t admitted to myself that I was an alcoholic either. Now, I fancy myself an under control alcoholic. Always will be too.

Are you taking B vitamins at all beacher? Apparently taking b complex vitamins help recover from thiamine deficiency aka “wet brain”.

These are just as bad as Nsaids.

Sort of lol, I get bored easily, and like to learn new things, and skills. Most things I do, I probably reach a semi professional to professional level. Except growing weed atm this one is challenging me, which is what I like. Its all the problem solving, for the least amount of money, I enjoy most. As well as the bonus of growing and using nice weed.

I still blame the chippie.
I was walking the top plate, stepped over a truss (we were putting the battens down before starting the fascia&gutter/sheeting) and stood on one of the right angle brackets they use to affix the truss to the top plate (steel frame).
The bracket wasn’t screwed into the top plate, it twisted as i stepped, and i “slipped” catching my leg between the top plate and a ceiling batten. It peeled everything back to the bone in the kneecap area. I still have a (very faint nowadays) nike tick looking scar there lol.
A interesting add on; When i got to the hospital, they refused me any painkillers because they thought i might need neuro-surgery. Limped out to the car and had 2 quick pipes. 20 minutes later, after the surgeon fella had a look and said no surgery, they offered me a few panadol for pain relief. I knocked it back :joy: It’s truely a wonderful plant!

I’ve only been smoking a couple times a month bc of work. Weed keeps me focused and positive. Kratom has really helped fill that gap for me. I take 2 grams with my morning coffee. It feels like I had a great night’s sleep. I strongly advise anyone with pain, anxiety, depression, etc to try it. There’s a lot of different strains that are good for many different problems.

I tried kratom last year, I couldn’t get past the clorophil taste, makes me gag for some reason, same with cannabis edibles if lots of uncured bud is used. I have a buddy who doesn’t like THC so uses that and CBD. He finds it very good for his Crohn’s disease.

Ya I always took B complex when drinking too for just that reason.i assure you my brain is completely dry haha

would you say there is a recreational aspect that can be enjoyed also with kratom? i sometimes have to go cpl weeks without canabis and while it helps my anxiety and ADHD i must admit i use it mostly recreationally. i feel disengenous if i sit here and say i medicate my anxiety and ADHD with cannabis even tho i know for a fact it helps with those issues i have. anyway i digress. can kratom also be enjoyable like thc cannabis or is it pretty much for symptom releif only.

Just refer to the high as a side effect… It’s worked for me for years.

lol i like that. from now on i’ll just say… “i like the symptom relief and the side effects of cannabis.”

Ya I think there’s strains that have recreational benefits. White elephant, white dragon and yellow Indo are the 3 that come to mind. White elephant is a happy mood elevator slight upper, white dragon is a mix of white elephant and white magen da the magen da brings more of an upper. Yellow Indo is also called happy hippo and it’s about the best description mellow happy feeling.

Can you take too much of it?
Or is it safe?

To my knowledge if you take to much you’ll get n upset stomach. So more or less fool proof. Might be an issue with concentrates. They’re more expensive so don’t see the point imo.
