White powdery mildew, what do I do?

No but I’m going to invite you over for porridge.

ok, how about this? Do you now acknowledge that powdery mildew spores aren’t everywhere after viewing the evidence presented here and on the other mildew thread?

lol apologize for what?

Take it up with the good people at Dow Chemical for making such an effective inexpensive product. I’m sure customer service would love to hear from you.

ok, did you perform the experiment that shows powdery mildew spores aren’t everywhere?

I did. I’ve gotten PM with no outside clones in the garden. You have said that spores can only travel 6 meters. I don’t have zinnias. I have no outdoor weed plants. My neighbors have no outdoor weed plants. My neighbors have no zinnias. No one near me does.

My observation debunks your observation.

Spore denialism is such a funny position to take. I’m here for it lol.

This.

This. Horse. Dead.

But you’re still welcome to some porridge.

ok so you have evidence right? Because I performed that test twice since we last talked, with the same result. As have others on the forums, including people posting here, as well.

I too do super-serial “experiments” with people that totally exist. You just haven’t met them because we go to different schools.

Call or email a mycologist at a university and ask them how far Golovinomyces spores can travel.

Trust me…they aren’t busy.

lol not to worry these microscopic windborne spores can only travel 20 freedom units aka “6 meters”!

Ask one of these individuals about how far powdery mildew can travel. They’re even Canadian lol.

I’m curious about the general area where Joe lives. If he’s far enough North maybe the spore load is greatly reduced. Not me…I live in an area near tons and tons of greenhouses. That would require travelling further than 20 feet lol but that’s not the point.

i personally hope the pm debate between you 2 never ends, its very comical on both sides :joy:

oh! So here’s the interesting part as I see it. You use myclobutanil aka eagle 20 to eliminate the powdery mildew but it keeps coming back from “sources unknown” and I am using sulfur and promising I can eradicate it forever, and somehow I can’t get it to grow. I got rid of it 20 years ago from my grow room and it won’t grow back. Just think about that.

heh heh I had to give em a little time to think about what I had said last. Apparently it never happened.

That’s not how the life cycle works. I also treat any clones coming in with myclobutanil and avid, so moot point. Are you suggesting it’s defeating the mildew until the mildew can bide its time and reeemerge 2 years later somehow because I “never got rid of it in the first place”?

The few times I’ve had it, it was due to airflow/spacing issues. But…mix in a few mL of E20 into water and “boom” it’s gone until I fuck up again…potentially years. Like I said…I’ve had the same bottle for going on 8 years now. Haha I’ve probably spent less on fungicides in last 8 years than you have on sulfur.

You also claimed you “got rid of” botrytis now you’re saying you got it again when you ran high humidity. Funny how that works. Because it’s in the air…like yeast or bread mold.

Bread mold only attacks bread closest to it. It’s why it’s always in the sale bin.

If you get bread mold it’s because you’ve had a chronic bread mold infection that you haven’t gotten rid of (with sulfur!) Stop leaving out piles of bread. it also attracts other unsavory characters like pigeons and ducks.

Ugh. There was a point where this was funny. But I don’t remember when. It must’ve been awhile ago.

His evidence counts because he’s a genius and ours doesn’t count because we’re not.

Write a paper, go to school, do something.

ducks are quite savory

I don’t trust things that greasy.

Ducks are also close allies of my least favorite animal…the Canadian Goose. Canada’s worst export, besides Nickelback. A national shame.

To hell with waterfowl. THE EARTH IS 70% WATER AND THERE’S SO MUCH SKY PLEASE LEAVE DRY LAND ALONE.

So even though you claim powdery mildew is everywhere waiting to reinfect, you also say you don’t get re-infected until you do something? What is this “thing you do”?
