donāt be so sensitive! The damage is exactly the same as caused by Thrips. A lot of folks have told you this. If you canāt find them, that doesnāt mean they arenāt there.
Have a nice day, Iām outta here
Yes, it is, and Iām only trying to learn here, not sure why questions are being met with such responses.
Dude, Iām not arguing that theyāre there, Iām trying to figure out what āa lot of folksā are seeing, other than white spots, that Iām missing š¤·. Iām not sure why itās difficult to answer.
Have a read over all of the comments again. I donāt think Iām being sensitive, Iāve asked half a dozen times what people are seeing, and Iām getting the same responses of āitās thirpsā without an answer as to what people are actually seeingā¦?
The white/pale spots on the top side of the leaf. Itāll have almost a sheen to it when the light hits. Thatās thrip damage. They almost look like little stretch marks. Theyāre in your pics up there. Not the outer leaf damage. The white spots within the leaf.
Thrip damage circled
I have no problem drawing you where they are. Sometimes the eyes are not interested in telling us what is in front of them.
WHITE SPOTS, which you obviously see also, since you posted the pics and questionā¦ The type of spots that are almost assuredly caused by Thrips. Everyone has answered your question, my friend. There are pics of the critter posted all over the internet, also pics of the damage they cause. It isnāt too late to get rid of em, the damage is obviously just getting started. But do as you will. Sorry if this comes off as anything other than an attempt at being helpful to a fellow cannabis lover.
Thank you for this, this really helped find them, and I have confirmed the lil fāers are there
The pic with Thrips circled above my post is your āproofā they ARE there!
Ahh brilliant, thank you!!! It definitely helps knowing what youāre looking for!!
Thank you. White spots Xan also be a calcium, magnesium or manganese deficiency, and thatās just scratching the surface. So, white spots alone canāt be the tell-all for thirps, which is why I was asking for more details
Not sure why youāre getting such a hard time asking for more infoā¦.
Youāll learn to spot their little silver trails they leave behind like your first picture. Often there are little black dots throughout the damaged area, itās poop. Then you start to spot the larva looking like mini rice gains.
Always easier to find on traps. Fwiw I always catch more of the larva on yellow traps vs blue.
Good luck dude
While āwhite spotsā can be indication of a number of problems. the shape, tells a lot.
For instance, this is damage from 4-lined plant bugs
this is damage from leaf miner
this is spider mites
this is thrip
Calcium, Magnesium, or Manganese do not cause white spots like these
That makes 3 of us.
Thank you so much for that detail, that absolutely helps, both now and in my future grows. I really appreciate your input.
Iām sorry if you feel like Iām one thatās giving you any āhard timeā. I was trying be helpful
Last week just spotted white spider mites lurking around. Theyāre huge. Albine tarantula mites. Orange spider mites are common, we live in peace. Brown mites, spring tails, some aphids. Thatās why I grow in living soil. Bugs eat bugs, this is my IPM. No problem .
Have a lucky week all of you.
@luxton
Most very experienced growers can tell what thrip damage looks like by the spots themselves.
You asked and were given the answer many times.
Yet you wanted others to āprove itā.
You stated right from the beginning that it wasnāt bugs, you stated that you looked and found no bugs.
I am sure it seemed to others that you just didnāt want to accept what experienced growers were telling you.
You have to remember we can only go by information we receive and it is hard with limited information and extremely hard over the internet.
There are two sides to every coin and yet one side cannot see the other.
Everyone had your best interest at heart regardless of the outcome.
I dunno, I guess I thought I asked for help in what to look for and wasnāt getting a response. I never challenged anyone or asked anyone to prove anything, I simply wantef to know what else, besides the white circles, I was missing that others were seeing.
Maybe you could suggest a different way from the multiple ways I asked, what I should be looking for besides white spots?
I appreciate everyoneās help.
