Who has grown autos?

Hey everyone hope all is well. I am interested in autos. Who has grown autos and what were your experiences good or bad? Let’s talk about it.

In my short (40 days) experience with autos; they’re crazy. You need your grow on point for them to grow big. Very interesting to me to watch them grow, so much faster than my regs.

Yes, grow them now and will grow them often.

Great genetics and a dialed in room are key.

Love em AND hate em. Love em when I’m on top of things; HATE EM when I am not.

They are like a drag race; full wheel burn right off at the start. Make sure you don’t underfeed them or you’ll have stunted plants… however also don’t over feed them!

Life is hard. Imma gonna go rip on the bong.

I started with autos years ago world of seeds , sweet seeds all where good but at the time I felt I wasn’t getting the yield for my area I needed
Turn around time was good

I’ve just recently tried again to see how they have improved
And I was very pleased with the results
I will use autos to fill in open space

The members here at OG that got me to try them again

If your at all interested in autos checks out Mr sparkle threads
There’s a few more

Good luck

Honestly they’re pretty interesting to grow
Doing some for the first time myself and having a lot of fun and pretty easy to grow

You just can’t really mess up as you don’t have the time from what I understand

i have grown autos, i started growing autos so i could learn from them before growing phot period strains, i still grow an auto here and there as space fillers, or if i know i will need smoke.
autos are good for being fast and some autos have high potency with good yields,
with autos there is no guessing when to flip or even need to.
also you get a standard plant, no phenos hardly, and with autos you really dont have to do much, with some you just stick in a corner feed once in awhile and they still put out, maybe not as much if you took care of them.
the pros are many and theres cons too,
with autos if something goes wrong, ph issues, ect they are hard to fix sometimes as the plant is on a count down, if you top certain autos you could lose your harvest, well sum do and sum dont respond well, it is all getting the right strains though.
here is a time frame on most autos so you know what to expect, hope it helps you.
3-5 weeks are the veg. stage
4-6 weeks is the stretch phase
6-10 weeks is typically the flower stage

some autos though will start flowering at the 4th week mark and others will follow the list above

Lol I’m looking forward to seeing the short flowering cycle as I’m currently waiting on two 10 week long photo periods lol :joy: only a few weeks left

My next run or two will be all autos. I’ve grown 3 so far including the one I’m currently running and have been happy every time.

They’re great if you get good genetics so pick wisely. Can sneak in two crops a season if growing outside. They don’t get huge and are easy to maintain. Take a bit of getting used to because if you stunt them at all in the critical veg period it could really hurt your flower time. Honestly I wouldn’t grow them specifically but they definitely have their place once you master them! About to do my second run outside.

I also have a love hate relationship with autos. I have a very bad habit of overwatering when they’re young which stunts growth and they never end up recovering. So I tried hydro and had 90% success, only one failed this time, got probably 3/4 of a lb probably a little less off my 6 autos in one run. Plenty to smoke on for a few months.

I ‘bred’ all of the Dosi auto crosses going around and have had 2 friends successfully grow them (one and a half really, the 2nd friend is like 2-3 ft tall and starting flower).

Also have had bad luck with them outside transplanting into the ground and not much success putting seed into dirt either but next year I’m gonna try large pots on pallets so it’s not 100% outdoor, see if they respond better. Also have some regular autos from here I’m gonna give a shot outside, see if they’re more resilient.

Best advice I gave my buddy was almost neglect them when watering so you don’t stunt, super easy to recover from underwatering, not so easy to come back from overwatering.

Here’s some auto porn

I scored some NYC Diesel from Home Grown Cannabis Co.

This is what made me try them out seen people harvest 5g all the way up to couple oz shy of a pound

I have 4 growing now, I got them for the short time… but I have quickly realized that whatever time the breeder has given you, add at least another month… or two :joy:

However, it’s looking like the harvest isn’t going to be a disappointment at all! Especially for a personal stash.
