Who has grown autos?

You should have a harvest around 13 weeks

I might, but I was a full blown retard and didn’t have a grow diary like I should have. :frowning: Next time I will be counting. All I remember was I had written down that Aug 1 should be harvest time by ILGM time frame and for that plant, I have about 2 more weeks from today to not complain I wish I waited longer.

I have only tried autos once, on my last grow. Ended up with 5 ounces of Moby Dick, and 7.5 ounces of Bubblegum.

I have one just leaving veg right now thats right at 5 ft. It’s likely to be a little taller than me, maybe pushing 6 at the end. And I got them for the compact size :joy:

I’ve been growing autos straight for about 2 years now I’ve grown a lot of autos, made
A few auto strains it’s a kinda a roller coaster ,some plants grow huge some don’t ,I’m kinda bored with them at the minute and started a photo grow,I still have 4 autos going for a quick harvest while waiting on the photos lol

Gorrrrgeous.

I’ve had great results with Mephisto, Mandalorian, and Night Owl.

They’re weird and finicky sometimes, but once they root, it’s insane to watch them go into turbo flower mode.

Genetics are EVERYTHING

I think your order got mixed up with @Foreigner s order lol

I’ve only grown autos — except for one round of Photoperiods.

I think you have to be a bit more of a “picky” gardener when running/learning to grow autos. Unlike Photoperiods, you don’t have much time to recover from unfavorable growing conditions. As others in this thread have mentioned, it’s not uncommon to stunt them and end up with 6 inch tall flowering plants. At this point, I will pull up any plant that appears stunted and start over.

In my experience there are roughly two distributed phenotypes in terms of timing (note that these are for indoor growing only — outdoor cycles seem to be a bit slower). I determined these cycles using a variety of lights (HPS, LED, CMH, COBs) and didn’t see much difference. Intensity of light didn’t make much difference, so long as it wasn’t “too intense” (meaning the first true leaves appeared to be “praying” and would often droop) or too weak (sprouts would frequently stretch and fall over).

  1. very fast — these will only hit 2-3 nodes and show sex very quickly. You can often sex them around day 15 post sprout. The first signs of preflowers are often day 25-30. Their finishing time is often 4-6 weeks once preflowers show. The size of these plants can vary dramatically depending on growing conditions. The yield seems to peak between 2-6 ozs dry.

Examples include Bobby’s Widow F3 from mandolorian genetics. NBS1081 from @anon4675195

  1. moderate — these will often hit 4-5 nodes (or more) before showing sex. You can often see sex around day 25+, but rarely before this time. They will stretch vigorously and don’t often often show preflowers until day 40-50. The finishing time is often a function of the genetics at this point. Some will finish in the 45-55 day range (80 days post sprout), but others can take up to an additional 20-30 days (100-120 days).

Examples in the faster finishing group are abundant— this is the most commonly observed phenotype in my experience: Skywalker (meph), Samsquanch OG (meph), cherry fog (wicked pissah), Alf #5 (mandolorian genetics)

Examples in the slower finishing group seem less common, but I don’t have as many data points as I would like: blue dream from Barney’s farm.

The yields for the second pheno type can be very high — exceeding one pound of dry flower from a single plant.

The one caveat I will add, and this is a recent observation I’ve seen that has been fortified by @Cratix — stressing some autos before flowering (often once sex had shown) can delay the stretch and enhance branching, node formation and presumably root development. I suspect this may have a favorable result with regard to yield.

@anon4675195 has an insane amount of experience growing autos… so perhaps he has some thoughts : )

Here’s another one:

It should be noted that I stunted both of these. The first one got 1.5 hours of sun and the second was grown entirely in the shade. So it’s not the breeders fault the blame is all mine

Im trying out 3 Lemon Pie autos this time. They are in amongst these Dragonblood Hashplants.

Those little ladies are 22 days from seed.

This one is a SS#4 from @nefrella and FastBuds. She is 42 days from seed.

Any pictures you’d like to share?

Looks great! I’m excited to try them out.

I greatly appreciate your knowledge and thank you for sharing.
