I have a few plain silver Zippos and wanted a new daily carry, So I got this.
I put in the new yellow flame butane insert. Works great!
Lots of great looking Zippos here!

I have used those for decades, and you can purchase all over the place. My current one is getting pretty worn, but you can still almost make out that it says Zippo, lol.

Ahhh I found out what the deal with those Zorro lighters is- Ronson had a factory for many years in Hong Kong, and when HK reverted to China that factory and tooling switched to manufacturing as Zorro. So they’re not some random yahoos making lighters for the first time. This sounds like (allow me to optics nerd out for a second) like the years when you could buy both East and West German Zeiss lenses and binoculars before Reunification and the Berlin Wall fell. Carl Zeiss vs Zeiss Jena, I have a late production monocular from Jena stamped DDR next to the optical measurements on the top plate. Jena kept the optics works so in some ways their stuff was better, but Carl Zeiss had to rebuild and had a bunch of the optical scientists, so they eventually surpassed them technologically. My Zeiss Jena was made in the mid 80s but could have been from thirty years earlier other than the modern multi-coating on the lens. :upside_down_face:

Etsy is a great place to find leather stuff like that just make sure it’s real leather and coming from somewhere that won’t take forever. Though I’ve had great luck ordering leather goods from Ukraine and Czech Republic with pretty fast cheap shipping, they make really good leather in Eastern Europe

Does anyone remember? Zippo lighters from the 1980s that were about half the size of a regular one? I had one that was given to me as a prize at a fall fair in southern Ontario, back in about 1982. I was also a kid at the time.:astonished: It had a sticker with a package of, Export A green cigarettes on the side of the lighter. My Dad smoked the same kind. I lost it as kid about a day or two later. Wish I had that still, I thought it was cool.:sunglasses: Never seen another one.

They are called Zippo Slim. They made a ton of them and still sell them.

Ok thanks I will look into it.:+1:
I also remember the one I lost was a keychain with a zippo style lighter on it, and it worked!
I think it may have been a different brand?
As I was googling it?
I was about ten at the time, so my memory is a bit fuzzy.
Sorry if I spoke too soon. Oops.
But it may have just been a Zippo?
After all these years I think that’s what it was.
I wish I could show you a photo.

Mine was like this one I believe.

I don’t believe it is a Zippo brand name.

There were a bunch of those but you are correct, I believe they were all “Zippo Style” but not made by Zippo.

Sadly my childhood idea? Was wrong :expressionless:. But I still think it looks cool. But it is just a knock off.
