Looking at that picture of the keychain again.
Makes me think why a ten year old kid would get this as a prize at fall fair?
But I could also buy a pack of smokes at the same age, I remember the price? 85 cents. Crazy how times have changed.
I am telling the truth. am I that old? it was around ? 1982.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!
Love Zippos and Zippo-clones. Most of the people I looked up to growing up carried them. I got one for my 18th birthday and started a collection over the years. When I read Preacher, the comic by Garth Ennis, I loved the “F#ck Communism” lighter the main character carries, and the role it plays in his story. I focused my collection a bit after that. I’ve also done a series of about 12 paintings of Vietnam-era Zippos. Sh!t, I’ve even got one tattooed on my ankle. I’ve lost more than a few of 'em down through the years, and don’t carry one everyday anymore, but maybe I’ll get back into it. Anyway, here’s a bit of what remains.
My favorite inscription: “Ours is not to do or die, Ours is to smoke and Stay High.”
I’ll dig around and see if I can find anymore.
Some great pieces in this thread, y’all!
Stay up!

Ooo, I like those last two, @Jetdro.
I had remembered this as a Zippo, but I can find no confirmation of that. It does appear to be somewhat unusual. I’m going to do a little research on it.
The knurled knob on the left advances the flint.
The larger wheel on the left is the striker, the smaller wheel on the right raises the wick.
Has anybody tried the zippo yellow flame butane insert?
how is it for bongs?
A WW2 trench lighter……. Nice!
