when Ford introduced this body style in the early '80’s, might have been 80, can’t recall… on with the story, the night that my cousin bought this I believe someone said it was around $18,000.00 car, he wanted his friend, himself and me since I had just moved to town to go out in his new car in the let people on the strip see it, oh and it had just started lightly snowing. think on that, and if anyone wants more of the story, let me know- I’ll be remembering the rest!

My buddy wrapped a mustang like that around a telephone pole on his way to my place about 25 years ago. Broke his upper arm real bad. Car was a write off. Last time I was down that way you could still see the imprint of his rear wheel in the pole.
I liked that car.

well now that I’ve had my, er um “lunch break”, on with the story. I now remember being the youngest of the three I was more excited to be going out on a school night than anything else. my cousin being almost 19 was working and now had a brand new GT 5.0 Mustang BOSS that he wanted to flaunt in everyone’s face (for the next couple of Hours anyhow). After showing off on the streets off a small town in NC my cousin wanted to “play around” like we did as kids on go-carts. so we drove to an empty parking lot (I believe it was a mill or furniture factory parking lot), monster of a thing. wide-open, no one around, he starts doing donuts and slides in one area - down a hill over a hill up and over turn around all safe and sound mind you. till he tried to do the same thing going back, but during that short 10 minute time of intermission, someone planted a 50’ creosote telephone pole where there was plainly not one, back during that earlier time period that I had spoke of. don’t know how not one of us saw that telephone pole the first time around other than maybe we were spinning at that time, who is to say?

My friend had one of those. It had an injection problem. You get on a little bit of a hill it would blow Blacksmoke. But it’s still ran pretty good.

Yep, definitely, especially when I would put high-octane in, it would give a lil power boost poot of black smog

My ‘87 Buick Turbo T and my ‘84 Pontiac Grand Prix. Love ‘em both as I’m a GBody guy.
‘84 is the cruiser, and the ‘87 is the screamer.

almost had a GNX as my first car. ended up with a Subaru SVX instead, that was also good for tuning and a lot of fun. Kind of a japanese musclecar.

Yeah man, super rare. I just like the idea of small pickup trucks and diesel is a big bonus.

It appears you have a tarp. Could be a bunch of boxes in the shape of a car under there for all we know.

The old “car made of boxes trick” huh? Gotta get up earlier in the morning to fool me!

Yea I seen that. Very nice. The cars are worth money. Didn’t want to have a bubble glass in the back? Grand Prix is beautiful. So is the grand national. Seems like I had one with T tops one time I didn’t keep it very long. Man I used to love those old-school station wagons.
