Who's in management? (Any industry)

In other countries they still draft and the youth have all the same problems as Americans. It’s better to have a volunteer military if there are volunteers. Doesn’t seem worth it. My cousin is in the army and it really straightened him out, but he’s never been to war. My friend went and was one of the guys who jumped out of planes and he’s pretty messed up. So am I though. Ymmv.

that first paragraph sounds like me, except getting kicked out of a school district and change some of the jobs slightly. i settled down after getting my degree, well somewhat anyway. congrats on the kids.

Aw, there was nothing like getting booted from what was then the second largest school district in the country! I just never really settled down, or at least I’d like to think I didn’t.

Thank you for your comment about my kids. As I said, I had very little to nothing to do with their upbringing, so I have to look to the kids themselves, my first wife and her third husband for much of the good stuff. My son is also an HSDO, though no BA. My daughter actually graduated! HA!

We seem to be cut from similar cloth. I too feel I was left to figure stuff out on my own, even when I asked. I wasn’t alright denied, I was told later or maybe. As I grew older I came to think of my father as the maker of broken promises, but didn’t dare say this out loud. I too have had many professions in my life. I am now at a point in my life where I feel comfortable in my own skin.
