Who's running northern lights?

The oldest I’ve had for over 20 yrs… Skunk#1, White Rhino, Sour Diesel, Frankenstein, Maui Wowie, the rest I’ve accumulated during that time-frame, Kali mist and Jack Herrer has been in my grows for about 10 yrs or so

I came here to Oklahoma originally to be a Master Grower for someone that’d never grown. He’d only bought and sold from me and knew me for about 10yrs… he watched a couple ‘U-tube how-tos’ and figured he knew as much as me, trying to micro-manage me over my shoulder…I DON’T play well with others! So took my mothers and bought a license…

Yeah no one likes someone to watch them work let alone try to run things clueless…there are several other professional Oklahoma growers here even a dispensary owner they have a thread on here

So since you’ve had for so long, can you confirm that a strain doesn’t lose vigor or potency after cloning over and over again?

The wife and I both have med cards and everything we grow, we use (variety is the spice of life lol) I’m not in need of much money as I own my land/home outright (cash talks) I sell to dispensaries only when I need a bit extra cash, and if they yank folks I stop selling to that one. Everything I do take to any dispensary flies off the shelf , which I guess means people like it. lol

If you have been growing for 20 years + I’m sure it’s top shelf quality…I’ve been growing that long but almost entirely outdoors so the skill set is not the same unfortunately but I’m getting better

I KNOW a strain doesn’t lose any of its strength or yield, as long as it is properly cared for. I’ve kept single mothers going for up to 7 years before budding it out, and also kept strains going by cloning every 12-18 months

I’ve had a few bad hits over the years, losing a strain here and there for various reasons. But, with proper care a strain shouldn’t lose any of its characteristics that made you fall in love with them. I’ve used Oldtimer1’s Bonsai method for 20 yrs to keep a lot of my mothers going. this is all I do, grow and smoke weed :

Wow I’m a 3rd gen grower myself but I’m bout half your age my grandparents grew in the early 60s but we’re far from breeders it was a pure cash crop my dad started in the late 60s but was pretty off and on sometimes with 5 years or more without growing I harvested my first crop in 1999 at 16 lol I’m trying to master the indoor realm but it’s no where near as forgiving as the :sun_with_face:

both outdoor and indoor have their good/bad points. Being 3rd gen gorilla grower myself I can appreciate the intricacies of both worlds. I’ve come to love and prefer indoors.
In the early 50s at around 3-4 yrs of age, I’d run alongside grandpa in the rows wanting to ‘help’ lol they gave me a cutdown hoe and I know I cut down more weed than weeds but they were patient. Being a family business it was only worked bu the family and I was trimming by 10 lol

Lol…man, we were brothers in a past life. Sounds like we could be best friends if we lived close enough. 34 y/o here in Canada. Started growing at 14…mom found my seedlings under a 12" floro in my closet. Years later she watched my 400+ plant grow while I went to Amsterdam for the CC…lol.

breeding isn’t all it’s cracked up to be lol there’s a lot more tears and bad attempts than truly good successes when I took on blending 7 strains I didn’t know what I was letting myself in for! single strain-on-strain crosses I can do in my sleep…lol
The White Rhino, Sour diesel, Skunk#!, are 3 of the original strains I used to make Frankenstein. White Russian, G13, Blueberry and Hawaiian Snow were the other 3, I then back bred into White Russian and Sour Diesel to strengthen those phenomes and added Maui Wowie…3 &1/2 years of blood sweat, tears and thousands of babies(all logged meticulously)

grandpa died ('68) while I was in Nam in the 60s and I became my dad and uncle’s partner when I came home. They both are gone now but I’m still growing and have my 3 sons working with us, still a family biz - no partners
