I’m also in Penns Woods, a terrible backward state as far as weed goes. I did exactly as TheShowMeHomie is suggesting, I built a new ganja boy stealth box, and started growing for the meds side of it.
The edibles, are a way of life for us now, as my wife is a cancer survivor
I save and use almost every aspect of the plant for something. She believes/knows in her heart the edibles are keeping her in better health. Of course we changed our diets, and dropped of a lot items called food, for better nutrition.
We were sent a link to get a PA medical card online, and we know like 7 folks that used it and have their cards in less than a week. I do not need one, as I grow my own, hell for the past 20 years now.
The NGB box will supply you with enough kind/buds from cut to cut, a nice accumulation of leaf for a bit of hash, or to either add to your edibles, or smoke it.
I do completely understand the fear of growing, and until we finally get to buy a license to grow, the card can be an option for some.
I may get one, just to support the system, as legalization will come, to this backward state.
Small town full of dope equals cheap houses. You only need a basement and a working electrical outlet.
Barring something going horribly awry, our house ends up being almost the same price as renting.

However, they will break into your house if they think you’re growing.
I’m not in the hood, but I am close, and that is my only real concern.
I’m pretty sure the med route is a money around here. The closest dispensary is 40 miles away one way in State College and I don’t even know I’d be approved for a card after I spend 200 on the doctor appointment! I think my best bet is to wait for recreational to be legalized and/or pray I can find a roommate/girlfriend I can trust to share a house with at this point. I def find edibles to be soothing to the soul unlike sucking ash. Once this corona virus is over I hope to get back to work and can afford to move. Unfortunately I didn’t qualify for unemployment and am missing out on a small fortune with that 600 a week extra they’ve been giving away. Life is still good though I’m not about to hate the world I’ve just been curious if others find edibles the soulful approach alike me!
There are doctors here that just hand them out for general anxiety 100 bucks a visit

But I do get it man, I spent many years being lite on cash.
When I left PA in the mid 70’s, I went to Chicago to find steady work, the gas shortage was reducing my job to 3 days a week here.
On the South side of Chicago, I found a cheap room at the run down YMCA. The first night, some guys tried to roll me. I guess they did not think I’d fight back…you fight for the few dollars you did have. I kept my money, and for the next few weeks, was bothered by no one. Found a job, rode a bicycle for a year, saved my cash, found a lady and had kids. So yeah man, I do get it.
And, if your in the State College general area, it is harder to secure quality employment.
I’m more in the south central part of the state myself, and being and old phucker, I got a bit of retirement to fall on.
AND to get back on point, edibles for us are as wanted as the buds are. Edibles and an Olive Oil infusion with cannabis, helps my wife with restless legs at night, and edibles helps that and her night sweating, is all but nonexistence.

I’ve been running my small perpetual for about 20 years now. 5 years ago, a close associate, had his found out, from not running tight. I got a note from a friend and they sent me the record for his bust.
My shit was gone in 4 hours!! I waited a week, and then went to talk, and he denied being busted. I showed him his arrest records, and ask, why is free, on a 30 plant bust.
He told me this, they knocked, he answered, they ask him if was growing, he said I am, for medical reasons. They asked for his phone, he showed them the area’s he was working (I built it all) .His phone never rang during the 2.5 hour event, and they commented, your not a drug dealer, so he was dimed out.
He walked due to they found nothing packaged up, just Mason Jars with his personal stash. He openly told them he suffers from a wide array of ailments, and was taking a doctors advice as weed was his only choice, as pills messed with his head.
The cops pulled their pick ups, into his garage so his neighbors would not see the plants and related items leaving, as being cool for his co operation.
He was given a citation, never handcuffed, got a simple possession charge, never took the ride downtown.
That is always rat treatment, in my world anyway. I ask him openly did you dime me? Emphatically NO man, I did not! I had a real hard time believing him of course.
I did not set back up for a year, as I had a case of packed masons in freezer away from where I was growing at, so we had plenty of buds.
The guy went to court, and they never even mentioned growing charges. He got a simple possession charge. Hell they did not even break one bulb when they tore it down, just stacked it all up in a corner, and left it!
They had the whole show, cloning, seeds were being popped open, early veg area, late veg area, a nice big flower area, full of bushes! Possession charge.
Anyway, I want my grow license in a bad way, so yeah, come on legalization!!
I got a small chunk of land, we want to make a cannabis farm on, I just hope I’m still alive to do that. Best to you man.

I’m hoping It never happens but I fear that knock immensely but my story is much the same I grow for me for my medical use I’m a legal patient hopefully they will never knock anyway I have switched to 100% edible usē no vape no smoke I grow I cook I medicate that’s all keep strong brother things are changing
No edibles for me. (If someone offers them up, I still try them…just hoping this time…lol) They do nothing for me. And have tried all kinds, including commercial made. Makes me wonder what people who eat 2 brownies and jump out of a window really truly were on. Or if Darwin is just stepping up to the plate. Smoking for me👍 Nothing beats that savory taste, and first inhale of pure, unadulterated, sweet sweet, oh so sweet bud. No edibles or vape pen will ever be able to replace that.

For some reason, edibles dont give me a satiating high like smoking or dabbing. I get high to a degree but, they only really mess up my tolerance and make me groggy.
I should also add, I am a proponent of terpenes over thc.
I think your stomach destroys the terpenes and/or they aren’t absorbed.
I started using a $200 vape since I started this thread as well everyone… I still worry about my lungs because of particulates but it’s cleaner and more efficient than smoking and I’m happy enough with it to not worry about edibles right now!
If you’re not getting high off of edibles you’re not doing it right. It’s a bit more work and a bit more complicated but when you get it dialed in…wow.
Simplest way I know. Take 3.5 grams crush it and mix into store made brownie mix. Pour into 9”x9” pan. Bake at 350 (or close) for a half hour. Cut into 9 pieces/doses.
An eighth makes what…6 joints? This is not any more expensive.

I can not do it any more right than the commercial stuff out of California and Colorado…lol. I have no issue trying what someone makes and says “obviously they didn’t make it right”. Well, according to me then, none of it is made right then. Just does not do anything for me. And I am sure I am not the only one…lol

Around here the commercial edibles are $15 for 10mg which is bullshit.
The recipe I gave above is closer to 60mg per dose assuming 15% potency.
But there’s also nothing wrong with taking a little hoot off a pipe once in awhile.

I am saying I have tried anything given to me, from commercial stuff to homemade by hords of people. Not once did I get high. And they be running around on top of the world after 1 brownie:joy:

I usually decarb my wax/weed in a custard dish with coconut oil at 240 for 30 - 40 mins. Its always worked. I just dont like the high. Id rather get medicated on demand
One of reason I risk my freedom is to have enough plant material to make edibles for my wife.
We are long past the thinking * if I’m not feeling high, I’m NOT getting anything from it* path of thought.
Sort of like taking vitamin D3, you do not feel a thing, but one day you realize I’ve not had a cold or flu, sore throat, nothing in over 12 years now. Same for my wife.
She had a bout of cancer before we met. Then about a year into us living together, it reared it’s ugly head, and that was when I started to make edibles, oil extractions, and tinctures, for her.
The edibles side effects was she got rid of her night sweats,her restless leg thingy, and her cancer checks ups have so far, been negative, for about 10 years.
Is it due to edibles I have no idea, she thinks so, her doctor thinks maybe so, but we do not really know. Why stop?
I grow to make edibles and I agree most of what you bu is trash so I don’t bu them ever I makemy own and as far as edible vssmoking kindalike apples and oranges 11 hydroxy vs delta 9 isnt a fair fight if you arēlooking for pain reliefor sleep hlp edibles can’t be beat stronger narcotic effect longer duration andif yoū dont think they work on you then you jst havent had any good edibles because they will put you to bed for sure
