2 plants one pot?

I’ve found that clones from the same queen mother do well in doubling up

All from reg seeds, same strains in same pots. That’s a good thing to know for future grows.

When I run strain trials I plant 3 in one pot to keep one.

That’s exactly what the plan is.

When I grow regulars I usually plant 4. I’m going to follow your lead and put them two to a pot. I’ve grown autos to harvest that way and feel like two autos in a three gallon is appropriate, at least when growing in a small RV closet.

My limit really is three in a 3 gallon. 2 together is really all I can personally do and still finish them well. 3 in a pot, ones always getting culled or cloned and killed. Even in a 15 gallon, I’ll occasionally do two. Just be prepared for daily feedings during flower, twice if you can afford the time.

I’m new at growing and old at life. I’m a science guy, first and foremost.

But in my lifetime alone, there has been a lot of science that gets further researched and then significantly revised. What we thought was true. . .isn’t really true.

Which is really cool, cause that is the way science progresses. It’s how it works.

So my point? I think the trick in life is to find a healthy balance between trusting in science. . .but not become a slave to it. And certainly not too much when it’s non-life-and-death stakes, as it is with weed growing.

I can’t prove it (yet), but I believe that plants communicate, with us and with each other.

I can’t prove it, but I believe that plants know how close they are to one another.

I can’t prove it (yet), but I believe this proximity aides more in their mutual development than we know.

I’m down to throw a few plants into the same pot. Eff the science – let’s explore.

If we can’t “play” here, where can we play?

plants in a 59 gal pot.

Hello folk’s, would you cut away the inside growth?

They’re doing ok atm.

You could probably do some defoliation.

Hey bud, I’m not big on defoliation but realise I need to do some this time to have any hope of controlling humidity.

I was thinking I’d be better holding onto them for now to help the root ball establish a bit more.

I only potted them up last week so the root ball isn’t great, I was thinking maybe defoliate next week but I’m open to suggestions?

Cheers

I’d actually lst that and tuck. I wait longer to defoliate though.

That’s interesting you’re of the same belief.
Fwiw I use a defoliation on my mother’s to slow transpiration /growth and keep them small as

The tub holds the pot about 1.5" clear of the bottom so they don’t stand in their own run off.

A while back I was cloning one for a friend so i just let it grow unhindered, all else being equal I got a huge flush of new roots out the bottom of the pot.

It’s difficult to know anything for sure not being a scientist but it looks like root growth is relative to plant mass?

You can grow monsters with tiny little feet.

What do you regard as tiny feet?

Again with the feet! This man… too ridiculous. :purple_heart::love_you_gesture:t2:

I think root mass has more impact on overall health and resistance to drought, disease, etc than it does on big booming flowers. Like folks grow monsters in 6x6inch rockwool cubes. Pretty sure it was firstcav that just pulled 4oz from a .7 gallon pot. Maintaining moisture levels, ec and all that become more difficult, but doable! Small feets are just needy

I had a Bruce banner with tiny feet and it was 2 nugs, like maybe a half. Didn’t know it was an auto till after I topped it. Every big tree I’ve grown has had massive root systems. 15 gallon pots.

I like working in 1Gs

I’ve gone bigger and it’s fine but 1Gs work for my space. Maybe 2-3 depending on what I’m doing.

The main difference is keeping up on water/ferts. Hard to do in a tiny pot that needs water 3 times a day unless you automate.

I veg 6 weeks in 1L and by that time they’re a real pain to keep up with.

Off the top of my head I’m thinking a pound in a 2x4 with 6G of medium.

Watering schedule would end me. Can’t imagine how thirsty in flower.

With my setup I’m watering everyday by the end of veg. Every 3-4 days at transplant to medium size to everyday at the end of flower.

Give or take this is just a benchmark.
