Eight days into box and the next 3 females are confirmed.
Both of the original stock and the purple will trade places and start veg training.

Seen this problem when put into tubs early, they start to yellow out about the time they show sex.
Once topped this undergrowth is ready to get the light it needs.

The second one also has a nice stacking of the nodes under the canopy ready to top.

Similar stacking on the purple even though it’s a completely different strain.
These three will become the next run, whether they get a full 30 days depends on training.

Going into flower at 21 Days

Number 1 - took to training nicely - conformed to footprint

Number 2 - Are we going to have a problem? More of the sativa momma coming out?
Have a feeling this one will get the cage (above mentioned locker shelf) for a couple weeks
until the positioning can get locked into place.

Number 4 - This is more along the runt line like Number 5. Lots of tight nodes.
It hasn’t stopped throwing pistils since first topping. Usually cut at 3rd node they will revert
to veg without hormone imbalance from forced flower. Win some, whine some…

Number 5 - Not going into flower this round, still working on graft mom plans…

Everything stuffed into box for night cycle. Still working on position for bloom to allow room
for the next set in a month. Yellow line is limit until second week, but once they start getting the
full strength and spectrum shouldn’t take that long.

Last and Probably Least

They are growing, they look good, but they throw schedules out the window.
Undecided but might drop into flower directly as they are.
Are 30 days above soil - may drop straight into flower as one off…

Waded through the Aloe jungle and pulled out the undergrowth.
The smaller pups were saved and the mid side given to a new home among garden ladies…

Had to run out for a few pounds of rocks to put in the bottom with a square of barrier cloth.
Filled the bottom half with the GreenLite soil mix for full drainage and topped with Original
as it makes a more solid layer to hold plants in place.

Blurry was trying to hold tablet and shoot through this guy…

Revenge by aforementioned garden ladies… 4 nice small banana stalks…
That took many many rocks but put it into a 2 gallon fabric with plastic basket for stability.
Cover crop experiment in the background. Sill moving along but since the peas and others
were attacked by mites it’s all on close crop status.

I made the mint (with cilantro and rosemary) tea from that article to spray IPM,
after it was rested overnight and strained it didn’t like to pass through the sprayer.
Only sprayed the cover crops and not plants…

Did get a sample of something locally - OMRI certified organic that takes a different
spin and doesn’t use oil derived formula. After researching, it just kept sounding better
and better. Can spray during day cycle and they say only the high pressure lights need
to be dimmed, but not LEDs. Requires a surfacant if leaves have waxy surface.
A little aloe and yucca were enough and gave all the girls (and everything in range)
a good coating. By time last plant sprayed the first few were already dry and were
perking up again. (So droopy when rained on)

I did this about an hour before dark cycle for the bloom bunch, and 3 or more left in
the light for the veg group. Will see when lights again come on this evening.

The spray down went fine, will do it again when scheduled or as needed.
The only issue was a couple of branches trained down with the velcro tape,
it was wrapped around the fan leaf stem and caused the fan leaf to damp off.
Caught it the next morning and removed the fans, all fine now…

The three have reached the first week after flip. No 1 & 4 are up front and No 2 in rear left
Have 3 different expressions of same batch (4 actually) No 2 is a stretcher, have started bending
the outer stems in toward center. No 1 (green front) is bushing out with moderate stretch.

No 4 (red front) has gone to 3 finger leave sets with a long center finger. The way they are stacking
up is different than the other two. Going to be in interesting run…

After pictures went thru and topped them all, sometime this week will get
to transplanting them into a new set of containers.

This is the extra from first run, after seeing the flower patterns in the current box, no clones or grafts…
Will keep this one around and top as necessary to eventually flower sometime in future.

O1 is keeping all the new growth close to the main stem, is starting to stretch a bit (topped em)
The first sets of fans went golden and working it’s way up to next set… all else green…

O2 doing much the same but not quite as hungry as it’s sister. Only topped upper level
to give lower nodes chance to even out. Repeat as need…

Purple one seems to be a bit more stretchy (topped) but after it gets to the zone it
starts tightening up the spacing.

Got some new containers - 1 gallon plastic aprox - went with a plastic solid
tube that fits an 8 inch saucer. They can transfer later to fabric for flower.

The little ones (B9 & 9B) turned out… one female and one male at day 40 above soil.
Still both under 5 inches and going to leave female in the 12/12 and tub size…

Sneaky late arrival… This was dropped in cup SEPT 1st that makes it 40 days in dirt and ignored.
The other was booted as weak, or that’s what my notes say, and this was written off Sept 19th but kept
the cover crop trimmed back and watered now and then.

Have a handful buried in the ginger but doubt they will rise from the tomb in zombie mode…

EDIT: went back and these were the same cups that the Chocolope used and neither of
them ever broke soil. Didn’t dig them out but just opened a hole and dropped new one in.
That would make it even a month longer if it’s a Chocolope seed (doubtful)…

5H Club :clubs: Big Balls On A Small Plant

The Male - chopped this morning after photos…

The Female - took off the lower fans to expose the inner core a bit more…

Has some nice long hairs so remains in the bloom box for experimental purposes.
Have quite a few more seeds from this same batch and will have to see if they also
keep really short like this pair.

Day 11 - playing with an overhead shot of No 1 - all are staying low and starting to show where
the bud sites will be. Still training the fabric No 2 and red basket No 4 needs a trim soon.

WTF was I vapin on that last photo???
The bloom area got the lolly strip plucking…

No 1 Green - The structure is nicely conforming to footprint assigned. This plant will BLOOM…

No 2 Fabric - This one put in a bit of stretch and the ends where topped are being trained back
toward the center but at an angle to allow the node to grow between them from lower down.
Once this turns woody next week or two the wires can come off…

No 4 Red - Not sure what this is going to do, but it’s going to do a lot of it…

Number 9 - Giving this one Day 3 mark in flowering schedule for feedings.
One main cola - never did that before…

Let’s see if the next 3 will fit in a couple more weeks… with the new containers they might.
These are now in Upward and Onward mode… next week should reach proper height…

The plastic containers used for the next 3 are the same ones I’ve been watching
being converted to SIPs style so testing these out for height/size if tried in future.

Didn’t add much to the height from the tubbed version. The topped ends are starting to come in.

Again the ends are recovering but this one a bit more bush like.

The purple is giving a bit more stretch staying even with the other two. Will see where these three are
in 2 or 3 weeks and ready to go back into flower.

Looking at the inset - this looks like a calmag issue over a need of more feeding.
Might be root bound or generally not happy - am thinking of whacking off a clone (took 1 & 2 in flower)
and when clone roots toss this and set up clone for third run.

The late starter - also kept around for third round (if it passes sexing phase) the cover crop of
oats actually died back except for a few blades. Any new white roots out the bottom will have
to be from the new guy in the cup.

The flower group has reached the 3 week point. Many of the wires have been removed as the
limbs they were positioning have grown woody and remain in place now.

Keep moving them for coverage and adjusting their footprints, height shouldn’t be an issue this round.

The feeding schedule for the Terp Tea calls for blank week 3 feeding followed by Bloom in week 4,
and both Grow & Bloom in week 5 as a PK kick before returning to Bloom only until finished.
Haven’t seen any issues so far with the feeding schedule so will continue.

The little runt is putting out tops, (week1 by adjustment) …

Did some maintenance this week in replacing the fan in the flower cabinet.
Small space… 2x2x4 by my calculations working with 16 cf…
CHEAPEST bathroom exhaust at home center $15 is 50 cfm
Decent carbon filter rated at 200 cfm

Filter gets vacuumed out between runs (or annually) and should last for years…
When I chose the fan, it was because they offered a replacement motor assembly for it.
But there on the shelf next to the new units (still at $15) was the replacement for $18???
Went with a new unit, used the one part I needed and now have a used unit as spare.

Doesn’t make sense as the replacement motor only fits the 50 cfm models (only 1)
and none of the higher capacity units have replacement parts…

The second set - both original stock and purple - will get put into the flower area
starting this week to get them accustomed to the light level in bloom box. They will
remain on the veg light cycle and be moved into the veg area for extra hours.

They have all been topped and ready to start training a footprint for flower space.
No 5 just doesn’t show me what I want to see right now… fate to be determined…

The little volunteer is at 11 days and starting to fill out and be interesting.
The clones haven’t rooted yet and will take another set this week before
this group starts budding.

Have been monitoring spider mites on the runt in flower room (so far nothing else)
and douched all the plants with the product mentioned a couple weeks ago.
Will continue every couple weeks, but am taking manufacturer at product hype…
Plants are at Week 3 of flower - buds are formed - pistils everywhere
(sure hope it’s a safe as OMRI says it is)

The sleepy time didn’t phase them at all after the spray down.

First positions for a night under the flower lights. Current plants in back row.
Looking at them above, they don’t look like they came from same seed batch.
The runt is just stuck in among the group in an open canopy position.

The training height is on track, but these will still get the extra 4 hours of light to veg all week.
This week the flower group again get the bloom tea building to the PK boost in week 5.

Decided to retry the Romberry since it didn’t work out earlier this year.
Since the current run is more mixed sampler of in house genetics would
go for some of the Mango from last year’s harvests.
Dropped a pair of each.

Clones of No 1 and No 2 have now rooted and been tubbed.
No 1 is starting to frost up along the sugar leaves and look promising.
No 2 it a bit more of a stretcher and not sure if it gets run again.

Have taken clones of Oo2 a week ago and they haven’t shown roots yet.
Will take clones of O1 and Purple just before flipping them this weekend.

27 days of flower and 27 days of veg - not much light reaching the floor.
The new ones are tied down where needed and positioned to get their share of the light.

Closeup doesn’t really show the frost developing on the sugar leaves. No 2 also has a bit but not
as much. They are all starting to pack on size and getting ready for their PK booster next week.

Not much left behind in the veg area (or is there?)
The forgotten No 5 that nobody appreciates (so far) and the Si that is all volunteer.
Clones from No 1 and No 2 have rooted and got tubbed up but at that size will veg a while…
Oo2 has 2 clones taken a week ago and O1 & Purp a single clipping a day ago.
Expect the roots soon on Oo2 pair so rigged up the holding tray…

Don’t really want these clones in tubs, since the seed run works better cup to tub and have
a quartet about to break soil. Cover crop is medium so should hold root ball for each.
Romberry showed tails first and went into cups, then the Mango was a day later.

The prescription bottles are slightly smaller than the jiffy pellets, when transplanting
and a side to side expands the hole to a snug fit.

Went through the flower box and opened up the canopy from large fan leaves…
Before

And After…

No 4 is packed so tightly but it’s got the airflow to handle it.
Sort of a Tetris management style…

After a week, start to freak…
Romberry popped right up and probably ready to up size container this weekend.
The Mango - one is no show (no soil disturbance) other than the cat grass, the
other went retrograde and tap root up so was reoriented and doubtful…

Next in line after the Mango (alphabetically) would be the Maui…
Dropped a pair of them. Haven’t grown them out before, but it was
important enough to me that I kept a bud nugget for unknown reason.

The early three are doing their thing and starting to fill out. The other three are being trained to
fill in spots and might also end up with an odd footprint.

At this point you’d see a picture with disposable lighters held up next to the colas…
The heights are acceptable but might let the later trio gain a couple inches more.

The runt is behind (in internal counting) at day 24 of flower so on week 3 feedings.
It’s been raised up to canopy level (1 tub up) and enjoying a bit more light.

At this point in earlier runs, they start to fade on the older leaves in week 4, but haven’t seen
any yellow leaves, mag issues, nute burn, they’ve been happy so far. Would say the teas work.

The Romberry pair have tubs ready but giving a few more days on root zone development.
Clones of No1 and No2 both rooted, were tubbed, and starting to veg again.
No5 the unwanted - not liking the structure on this, or liking it too much… not sure
Sn the volunteer is at 23 days and would normally be flipped to determine sex, but am
going to keep it in veg and watch for preflowers and others to catch up.

One of the Mango that went tap root up, slow to recover if at all…
But the soil is starting to turn green, there is a layer on the perlite and soil itself.
Guess it’s the Green Lite soil mix ocean elements coming out in humid high light…

The hanger on… not any real defined branching, just bushy stalks.

Day 23 - at the 6 or so nodes to start giving some indication in next week or so…

The clones have recovered starting to veg. No 1 & No 2 safe for another run.

The Romberry pair at day 7 above soil (full moon group) and trying out their tubs.

  • Not pictured - Mango seed with no progress & 2 Maui seeds waiting to break soil in cups.

Day Light Savings kicks us again (for those affected) and am electing to extend the
night cycle an extra hour to roll back the timer.
Where it would come on at 10 and move back at 2, will have it come on an hour later
at 11 (that being the NEW 10) and continue 12 hours or light/dark from then…

If the flower box weren’t 2 different points (d7 and d35) would drop the daylight to
11 or 10 hours during the last few weeks. Not sure if doing so when some at week 3
might induce them to hurry up or hermie out…

Congrats to all the new legal rec states, let’s hope they don’t screw it up
with excessive regulations and bureaucratic taxation like Cali did…

Just showing height of the lights above canopy. Have let the new ones gain a bit more height,
they are at week 2 so stretch shouldn’t be too much, but another 2 or 3 inches would be nice.

More shuffling around to keep the older ones from being shaded by the younger girls.

The front two (No 2 and No 4) starting to show a bit of tip burn, or fade starting?
No 4 is the most affected…

They only have another feeding or two anyway. Scoped them and there are a few amber on the
sugar leaves, but most are still clear/cloudy. Sometime between Thanksgiving and end of the
month (which is day 60 flower).
These two have set the most tops (Oo still a bit behind) and looking good so far.
Can’t spread these out as much as I’d like because of the other flowering group.
They can have a few inches up, but by time harvest opens up space they will have
turned woody and a bit more difficult to spread.

Well the little retrograde Mango popped up, not sure if it was stunted by the flip, or just shorty.
Seem to have a magnetic draw to the mini - still a couple week behind the other seedlings.

These are over a week ahead of Mango. In cups they looked a bit stretchy, but once tubbed and
put at veg height have started to stay a bit more squat.

Here’s the one that took 40 days in a cup to germinate. Am checking it for sex but so far haven’t
seen any indication. (But feel it’s a female)

Still hanging around…

The first of the clones have recovered but both are showing a stretchy growth without much
in the way of branching. They both will get topped this week and see if they start bushing.

They might not have much green but has hairs at every node…

The newer clones still only a few days in, one more waiting (Oo) as well as a Mango seed
that hasn’t broken ground yet. The two Maui haven’t broke soil after a week either…
